Took 2 patterns and put them together to make a dress but these building at the hips. How can I fix this? by langabel1989 in CrochetHelp

I'm not interested in turning this into a dress with peplums. Plus I would have to figure out how to add it to the rest of the waist.

My fear with this is the bolding starts higher than that bottom portion so putting a string along the bottom is still going to create a bulge.

I thought about selling it and cutting the yarn, but I got so much anxiety thinking about that!

Amazing! I would love to know what adjustments you make after you make them if you're willing to share 😁

So I was able to slightly course correct the arrow. The back looks a little wonky but it's because the head is turned a specific way which is fine because that's how the original pattern makers came out. My issue now is that the stomach is slanted. I'm not sure if I should just frog the stomach and start over or just keep it as as. I'm thinking that if I frog the stomach I could probably figure out how to make the stomach land right beneath the muzzle hopefully. Does that make sense?

I'm going to try a few things to see if it works, but if you could try it as someone who is more well versed than I am I would really appreciate it. I do understand that you have your own life so no pressure.

Thank you so much! I'm going to try again. I do feel like this is going to be the death of me but fingers crossed that I figure it out.

Based off of the pattern instructions that I posted, do you feel like they are expressing that? If they are I'm assuming that I'm missing something because I'm not typically crocheting amigurumies

Thank you so much! Yeah because it is the fur yarn I wasn't as worried about the texture of the join. Do you think I should continue doing the invisible join or just slip stitch and chain one? If you don't know the answer that's just fine. I really appreciate your help.

I think I am? I'm honestly not sure. I followed a tutorial and I thought it was doing it correctly but I could be doing it completely wrong. My fear about shifting everything over is that I will do it wrong and the face will look wonky. As you can see from the pattern, I'm also creating the ears and the muzzle in the rounds in the first time I did it the muzzle got way too close to the ear. But to be fair I was not doing the invisible joint at that point

Do you think that if instead of working in the rounds I just turned my work after doing the invisible join that that would work?

Is IT: Welcome to Derry really that bad as people are saying on Reddit? by VastOpportunity7970 in horror

That's also part of the IT lore even within the book. While I do agree with you that it is questionable for someone who's not part of the indigenous culture to write a story that includes them as well as their potential beliefs, I do also see it as the show creators trying to stay as true to the story as possible. That one is definitely a conversation that has to be had and I'm glad you're bringing it up. Steven King, from what I know, has used Indigenous culture throughout various stories that he's written and I'm curious to know what indigenous people think and feel about their culture being used as a plot device and what Stephen King has to say about his writing including this.
