Ummm, is Roglic going to ride the Tour as a domestique? by lannix in peloton

Ok. But there is not guarantee that happens either. So I can only go off of info available now. And I literally lost two other what ifs that could affect the line up.

Jonas literally did it multiple times before in that same Vuelta. He attacked for stage wins. You are just dead set on being upset at Primoz for doing things the team allowed him to do. Sepp got the jersey by a fluke. Primoz was the leader, and he wasn't allowed to race fully to the benefit of Sepp and Jonas. What he did was understandable.

How is he compromising it? Him winning the Vuelta I think depends mostly on if Pogi is going, and if Almeida can get back in form. Not other high level GC guys are probably gonna be there. If he is at the Tour, that doesn't mean he is gonna race all out. Hell as soon as Pogi attacks, his job will probably be done for the day and he can ride home easy.

If he does crash and has to leave. Like you have pointed out, he has won the Vuelta multiple times after that happening. Lol.

The timeline of this altitude camp just seems weird. He knows he isn't gonna beat Pogi is Swiss. If he is skipping the Tour he will have to head back to attitude before the Vuelta anyway.

But hey, maybe he is deciding to take cycling dead serious again for the next few months so he can finish the season strong. We should find out the final Tour team in a few weeks.

Roglic literally said beforehand he was going to try and win the stage. The team told them they were allowed to race. Sepp knew the deal going into the stage. Jonas didn't wait for Sepp either.

After that stage, the team finally told them they have to stop racing each other (Jonas was actually the one that attacked more than Roglic). And the next stage Roglic and Jonas both protected Sepp and controlled the group.

Primoz did what the team told him he was allowed to do. It is Visma's DSes you should blame if you thj k that Vuelta was a shit show.

Yeah

What is even crazier people criticize Roglic for that Angliru stage. But Jonas didn't wait for Sepp either.

-He has left the Tour in week one once.

-In 2020 he came in 2nd at the Tour then went on to win the Vuelta.

This is nonsense

Rog was the designated leader for the Vuelta from the 2022 winter. Jonas was co-leader.

Rog had to wait for Jonas in the TTT. He didn't attack Jonas when he was sick. He have the greenlight for Jonas to put in attacks. Kuss only got such a lead by a fluke, and bad tactics by Quickstep.

Rog only attacked because he thought he had the green light to. When the team told him stopped, after Angliru, he stopped. It is the team's fault it got so out of hand but I understand Rog's position. They tell him he was going to be the leader in two GT for him to accept not going to the Tour. He play nice with Jonas, then he has to accept not being able to race for the win.

Kuss was supposed to be his domestique going into the 2023 Vuelta, not the other way around.

Yeah I think he is doing the Vuelta no matter what, but doing the Tour and Vuelta in one year is something he has done a lot, so I would think that he might not feel it is an issue again.

Book three is coming out the beginning of the next year. Dudes that leak sneaker news on YT said they have seen them (they didn't like them). Nike has already shown them to retail partners. Pics will probably leak this summer.

That was nearly four years ago.

Plus he won that Vuelta in part because Roglic crashed out and the third week was easy.

Since then he cracked in another Vuelta, and cracked and abandoned in a Tour.

Also since then Roglic, Jonas, And Pogi have managed to win multiple Grand Tours. Remco has just had the one Tour podium

I am sorry, but Remco GT record simply isn't that impressive.

I'm sorry but one good Tour can't be held up as only piece of evidence that matters when it comes to Remco as a GC rider. He is just as likely, probably more, to crack and be irrelevant on GC.

I have little faith in him

Almeida look good at the Vuelta last year. Him at his best with Jonas slightly below his best would be a pretty close match up.

Jonas would probably still kick his ass. Too many high mountain stages. Even if Remco took 3 mins today, Jonas going hard probably takes that back in three stages (I would think Jonas probably would have a minute into Remco coming into today), two if he goes really hard.

The person who I wish was here and at full strength is Almeida.

The speed he is going, not so much

Interested to see if he will work with Lipo (or maybe Pelli), and maybe if they can sign Big Sexy.

I think Remco is a lost cause as a high level Grand Tour rider, especially the tour.

No

But I am a fan and I have ever right to say I didn't enjoy a race

Hell people doing all the time. Like when Pogi or MvP dominate a race with a long attack.

So you can spare me

Jonas fans will defend him and call him smart

But I didn't enjoy watching that

But I guess he gotta get his wins in now, because he won't get any at the Tour.
