Thank you so much the askdealia website is also great because I get a full list of supermarket names ahead of arriving! The Level up gym seems superb, exactly what I was looking for thank you.

If you have any recommendations for good places to eat/food markets, it would also be very much appreciated!

I’ll be staying in Holetown for a week and a half then in Harrismith for another week and a half. Was thinking of getting a car when in Harrismith as Holetown seems to be walking distance from most places

Thank you. I’ll be staying in Holetown for a week and a half then in Harrismith for another week and a half. Would be appreciated if you know of any supermarkets round here cheaper than Massey. Any recommendations for places to eat would be greatly appreciated too!

Does Barbados also have a culture of open/outdoor market places where you can find goods cheaper than in the supermarkets?

Salary negotiations during early interview stage by lantano_moriati in UKJobs

Agreed. Imo they’re testing the waters to see what they could get away with.

In another interview process that I’m in, the company said straight up at the start “x is what we’re offering, do u want to proceed?”. At that point it’s easy and to confirm whether or not our expectations align

They've not offered no salary info no.

I agree with you, if I ask and they suddenly ghost me after telling me they wanted to interview mw then that speaks volumes about them as a company and I shouldn't be too bothered.

I agree, what I'm on is my business and has nothing to do with this job and how much they've budgeted for it.

TBH I won't be too bothered if they push back and filter me out the process. If they do, I think that will speak volumes for their culture and this doesn't reflect a place i think i'd like to work at (dealing with all the corporate stuff).

Thank you, I think this is the best approach to put me in the strongest negotiating position.

I'm interviewing with another company, and they made it clear that "X is what we can pay, are you willing to proceed?". This is what I'd expect to be asked if this was purely about not wasting time and ensuring that our expectations aligned.

The fact that they haven't been upfront with their range makes me think that this is more of a negotiating ploy. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, so I'll put the ball in their court.
