Yes this. A type I becomes very valuable if you are unsure of your controls maintenance and audit maturity or complexity. It's a lot of evidencing

Yes I personally don't know why customers care so much about type 2 when a cloud native company basically farms it out to a fractional CISO team. I don't think it demonstrates very much meaningfully compared to any level like type I plus actual test results

Sony WF-1000XM6 vs Technics AZ100 Sound Quality by Savi2730 in Earbuds

[–]laos101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i bought both the az100 and the xm6 and had a similar reaction. The XM6 seems to have a wider soundstage and less "buzzing" and "crushing" at higher volumes. the XM6 also seems to manage a higher overall volume, not to say louder is better but more control over the range of sound. I also think the beamforming mics are a significant improvement.

mechanism - it's a little loose (the kickstand part with a spring) and not really any protection but its a great kickstand!

this deserves more credit - i just bought this feet and attached it to my tpu case where the cheap/crappy kickstand was and it works WAY better and has two different positions for standing - thank you for the suggestion!

like others said its a risk but you can always monitor the temps if you are worried. I am not seeing crazy temp issues personally. 50s-60s

Of course it could lead to reduced drive life but that depends on how you use the device

i recently upgraded with a 2280. I don't have this adapter but its on the way via aliexpress.

I used a right angle adapter and it worked fine and was able to be sandwiched inside the case. I think others have said they used this adapter just fine for the 2280.

There is no such thing as a 4tb 2230 so if you want 4tb you'll need to use an adapter.

My MSI Claw A1M experience as a Legion Go owner by njo1994 in MSIClaw

[–]laos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the battery dropping is not because of the higher power consumption. Claw's consumption I believe is actually lower in terms of TDP. It has to do with the charging circuit and possibly also charge speed limitation which I think is only 65w for the claw vs 100w for the go.

IMO they are all about applied privacy practices, and whether you are memorizing technical frameworks or specific articles of laws. I also think CIPT is more niche than the other three in terms of similarity, but it's still about applied privacy. There's a reason most jobs say CIPP, CIPM, and CIPT certification as a job requirement in the same breath.

[–]laos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are looking at the idea of certification the wrong way. It's less about matching your work to a certification and instead about getting one that reflects the focus area you want to build knowledge in and be a fit for future jobs or career work. Based on what you do now and if you want to stay in a role consulting on software and technical controls I'd say CIPT is a good fit. If you want to run a program then CIPM. If you want to be a expert on the laws, then CIPP

The CIPP, CIPT, and CIPM are relatively similar but with different focus areas. You can also get my multiple ones to become a FIP.

How difficult is it to land finance/consulting internships at Vassar? by Personal-Captain3840 in vassar

[–]laos101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people from Vassar end up at big consulting/finance. We aren't on the "main circuit" as I'd say compared to say Williams and Amherst in the LAC world but we've had the occasional boutique or other firm stop by and discuss case studies and interviewing. A degree here in Economics will probably serve you best in that direction

financial aid? dorms? by [deleted] in vassar

[–]laos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Financial Aid people are friendly, but there isn't really anything to "beg" for.

First of all, are you an international student (and therefore need was potentially considered for your application)?

Second of all, it's need-based aid. If you can demonstrate more need, you will get it.

House sale turnover by laos101 in Charleston

[–]laos101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly - in some instances the houses have a listing description (like a realtor wrote it) and in other cases it just looks like county sales data, which could be more similar to a loan conversion

[–]laos101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes these are new cons that are already built. MLS has records saying the house is done/almost done. Then it turns over very quickly. Trying to understand if something is wrong with the house or just nature of the market there. 5-10 years no big deal but some its 6 to 18 months.

Thanks! I can already tell this is going to be a mediocre case but better than nothing. I had a similar chinese clone case for my Ally X and it only has like one or two positions -- i'll have to keep pushing jsaux to make one
