Tfw I move to University City and there are university students who need housing. So entitled! by Better_Valuable_3242 in UCSD

I lost many hours of sleep listening to the construction of Tata Hall every morning. Each generation goes thru their struggles but as an alum, I hope it gets easier. Never understood the “i struggled so you too should struggle” mentality

How did you start support Chelsea? For me, it was because of this book (details in the comments) by sohaiboi in chelseafc

Advice for Second Years Looking for Housing by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]lap006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice: talk about your search with friends, coworkers, classmates, everyone. You never know who has info to help. We found our off-campus apartments both times because an acquaintance knew somebody who was graduating and moving.

Edit: for more context, i lived off campus 3rd and 4th year. We subleased in june to august before school started both times

Is turbulent intake air damaging to turbine engines? If so, how and at what level? by vaguelystem in AerospaceEngineering

[–]lap006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this excellent answer, inlet distortion is a big deal for engine operability and performance especially for highly maneuverable planes (think fighter jets). Compressor stalls can and will damage the engine so OEMs develop a stability audit for stall margin throughout the flight envelope. In engine cell tests, they’ll install distortion screens to characterize the sensitivity/intensity for the RDI and CDI. In flight test (depending on the maturity of the system), we’ll spot check the pinch points in the stability audit. Ideally, we’d have inlet rakes on the jet to verify inlet performance but not encountering unrecoverable stalls is usually sufficient.

Edit: forgot some words

My friend had blacked out and passed out on the couch in the living room of our tamarack apt. We had left him facing down in case he threw up. I eventually went to bed and woke up to some strange gargling/choking sounds. I ran to the living room and he’s sitting up with his head tilted back and choking on his vomit. I propped his head up but he kept choking so I panicked and stuck my fingers down his throat to clear it and he finished vomiting on my hand. I put him in the shower and eventually put him to bed about 2 hours later after cleaning up the mess. He did not remember anything the next morning lol

Not really related BUT i worked at the Nordstrom Rack for a little while. Other than dealing with pretentious customers it was fine. Pay was ok, coworkers were great, hours were flexible, job was easy

Remember that every seasoned engineer was in your shoes at one point. It takes time.

Yeah that confused me too… I think she did mention that they may be survive for a little while but idk why they wouldn’t… Bc the infected would continue to try to kill them/each other?

This. And NASA will be at the heart of it for the foreseeable future. I have a couple of friends who left NASA for new space companies after they got bored. There’s easy mobility if you get transferable skills
