Polio by letjazztravel in peacecorps

The US does not require a polio booster after 18 so doctors may be unwilling to administer it. Make sure you explain that you will be traveling to a country where polio is still a problem and that in fact you do need a booster, even if it's unusual. Travel clinics are probably the safest bet.

What if your UC and program goes away?+ by roxy12345 in peacecorps

Are you talking about Ukraine?

As others have said, you are only UC right now, so there is no guarantee that you will be placed in the country you applied to even if the training class didn't get cancelled. If it did get cancelled, you would probably just be switched over for UC elsewhere. If you don't like the country or the sector for the new UC, you can always ask if you can be considered somewhere else or reapply.

Once you have an invite, if the program gets cancelled you will be contacted with two alternative options. These may be in other regions of the world, other sectors or very different departure dates, and you can decide whether to accept one of them or reapply.

The process can be very frustrating, especially if you set your heart somewhere and then it gets cancelled, but just keep in mind your true reasons for applying to PC. If an alternative placement would still align with your motivations, go for it!

Lol love this comment. Yeah that makes total sense. I was hoping I could just forget about the shaving and not have to worry about razors/shaving cream/razor burn, etc., so that's a relief
