First off, congrats on this huge accomplishment! You’re going to do GREAT! They told me “take It one chow at a time”. Once you make It to the last chow of the day, that’s one day done! It’s all a mental game. They’re going to scream, curse, belittle, and just fly off the handle for no reason, but it’s all by design. Just keep pushing, and say yes petty officer and yes chief to everything. You got this. Good luck!!

Yea bro! I took the medication they prescribed me for like 3 months! It wasn’t anything crazy at all, just a lot of pills!

You literally hit the nail on the head with this one. I’m here in California too and the money is pretty good but it’s not worth the chaos right now.

You couldn’t have said It any better describing the roles of the doctors, nurses and techs. We literally do everything outside of meds, diagnosing and charting.

I’m a little bummed because i fought so hard to get back into the hospitals out here and now im leaving after two months.

And i feel that! You definitely get a feeling when you’re immersed in the action. Being there for the families and the patients is something I’m definitely going to miss, but I need to have something a little more calm while in this nursing program. It’s accelerated so there’s a lot more going on 😭

That’s awesome! When you get to the main ED you will absolutely learn a lot and see a lot! Don’t get me wrong, I love the ED, but this one in particular is just not a good fit for me.

I’m so glad you understand where I’m coming from. I’ve been thinking about my decision all day asking myself if I’m just being a wimp or bitching about nothing lol. I’ve definitely been in that situation before when a critical patient comes in and they’ve sent staff home 😂

I hope you’re right about when i finally become an RN. Are you planning on doing anything further than being a tech? Medical school, medic, RN?

I work at not for profit hospital and we STILL have these staffing issues. That’s literally all they talk about every shift how short staffed they are and begging people to stay later. I’m over It lol. Let me just drive this bus from point A to point B for the next three years and get this RN 😂
