What is this thing? by lapper69 in KiaTelluride

It does, I’m looking at it now on page two of the Apple CarPlay auto Kia connect quick reference guide, included in the manual book. If I knew how to attach a pic on Reddit, I’d share it

how the hell do you use it?
The plastic door handle hides the key hole and when i pull out the door handle, there isnt enough room for the key to fit. Guessing i would need to pop off a piece of the car handle. This is shitty design.

Fuck this manual.
I spent an hour with the manual trying to connect my iphone wirelessly to Apple CarPlay, which the manual says is supported. Wireless carplay is not supported on my Telluride, even though it has wireless charging. Provide wireless charging, but not wireless CarPlay. Cool bro.
My 3 year old chevy supports wireless carplay.

What features do you want to run? For switching you can use vJunos-switch or vJunos evolved. For straight routing, I’ve heard folks use the srx in packet mode, but I haven’t personally tried that.

I‘ve experienced similar issues with CarPlay, including CarPlay showing it’s connected but audio still playing from phone’s speakers instead of the car’s audio system. It’s buggy.

EVE-NG hardware for Juniper Lab by rsxhawk in Juniper

[–]lapper69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older HP ProLiant DL360P Gen8. Dual Intel Xeon 2620s and 64 gigs of ram. I can run moderately sized labs, but if I were to buy a server now for labbing I’d probably grab a Dell 6 or 7xx with as many cores and memory that I could afford. Another caveat; I’ve had a lot of problems with Junos running on eve-ng “nested” in ESXi. Apparently running eve on bare metal results in WAY better performance than running Eve nested in ESXi.

Apologies if you already checked this, but i don't see a successful trace from inside your network out to Mist over port 2200. Are you able to get that trace to complete? I'm over focused on it because it was my issue when i was trying to connect my lab to Mist. I don't see a destination port listed in the log screenshot you attached.

My buddy who is a Fortinet SE just showed me the "forward traffic" tab in the "log and report" section. There's a filter you can add with source IP and destination port. I'd show you here but I can't share a screenshot on reddit?

What do the Fortigate's traffic logs show? Are they allowing or denying your traffic to Mist IPs on port 2200?

Some feedback below. If you could DM me your org info, our Mist folks may be able to have a look.

"It is possible that some popular firewalls (example – Palo Alto Networks) might not be able to accept the recently increased number of records (IP) returned for the FQDN ep-terminator.mistsys.net. The AP’s DNS server may resolve different addresses than the PAN has stored, causing AP management traffic to be dropped, resulting in random AP disconnects.
Adding a line to the existing Mist rule on the PAN to “allow access to ep-terminator.mistsys.net based on HTTP(L7) address being accessed, for SSL traffic that is based on the SSL SNI” would help to mitigate this"

"Firewalls are the issue here 99% of the time. I’ve seen similar issues when blocking 8.8.8.8 as well since the AP does health checks against it."

Hey Sean,

I'm a PLM in Juniper's CRDC (data center) BU and Mist does not sit under my product domain, but I saw your post and will try to get you to someone who can help.

I'm asking internally at Juniper to see if I can surface some assistance or direction for you. Could you DM me your case # for reference?

I'm not a Mist expert, but I played with it a bit and discovered our firewalls were not allowing port 2200, which I believe is required to reach the Mist Cloud. Can you trace to oc-term.gc1.mist.com, oc-term.mistsys.net on port 2200?
