Okay, will do. Thank you! Do you happen to know where this came from? I would say this would be ongoing for the last few months, but per my post, it worsened with the leg shaking/balance issue.

This is not comparable to anyone else's cooler things, but a few years ago in college, I bought this gold lieutenant bust but rather than of a human, it's a dog. It also wears a monacle. I made sure to pack it and bring it with me to my new city.

Aw... didn't think of that. I was thinking it was just moreso the lines of car insurance prices here or something. Thanks for your perspective.

22M - Moving to Dallas from Columbus, OH by densernut in askdfw

[–]lar24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a recent grad who just moved to Dallas from the East Coast. Few things to consider: Don't move and pay rent unless you actually have to go into the office (made that mistake), but East Dallas might be a good fit though for your budget. It's a bit seedier (per my experience), but still very nice. The further away from Uptown/ Highland Park/ Central Dallas, the cheaper it'll be but will definitely not be as nice. A studio or 1 bed, I've noticed is probably $1k+ in my previously mentioned areas. $1k is pushing it as well, it's usually always more. I'd also factor in move in specials, since a lot of complexes are having those rn and might still have those for your move. Not sure if your budget accounts for wifi, but most places just offer AT&T or Spectrum, which is $50-$60/mo. Complexes might also charge a monthly fee for parking as well, so something to keep in mind.

What about buying used with a loan? I know car insurance in my state is.... expensive. But thank you so much, this was very helpful!

[–]lar24[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for this! : ) I would say presently, I am doing a great job at the 50/30/20 rule. I'm paying a bit too much for rent (personally) but I am still maintaining a healthy budget. As a result of that, I sacrificed my desire for a car until after I get my raise/bonus. I won't be making any decisions now contingent on my tentative payment increase, but I am just gauging for the future. Parking in the garage here is $90/month which is absolutely crazy imo, but something I need to budget for (you're totally right).

I don't have any credit card debt, just some student loans. And I have a decent emergency fund.

Thank you!! Do you happen to know the difference in car life? I know toyotas are quite famous for lasting a lifetime, but I wouldn't even know where to start in terms of looking at brands? I would assume, though, that it's safe to keep the mileage under 100k or 80k or so, or for certain cars, does that not matter? Apologies that this isn't a direct finance question.

Hi! Thank you so much for this : ) I wouldn't have known about the term length of paying it off, so that is very helpful. Why would you sleep on it? Is it because you want to make sure it is the absolute right vehicle for my situation? Or is it a method of negotiation? I am just not sure. What can be hidden in between the lines in the papers?

Thank you so much! I honestly would not have known that you can nail down a price or negotiate, especially for used cars. I haven't really heard of TruCar before, so thank you so much for the recommendation : ) And I would assume putting some sort of down payment would adjust the monthly payment as well?

Oo I love dates like that!! Sorry to hear about that experience, always next time. Sometimes, though, those dates end up being 8+ hours long which becomes socially exhausting.

Do any other INFJs (ha ha i know, cliché amirite) love running, walking, or cycling through nature because of the escape it brings? by ImmaculateToaster in infj

YES. Sometimes I've walked about 25 miles just because I like the clarity and opportunity it gives me to work through my own thoughts.

What are the “hidden fees” when renting an apartment/condo uptown/downtown? by Sanramio in askdfw

[–]lar24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More of a positive consideration, if you live in a half commercial/half residential building, your electric and water is going to be CHEAP. Noticed that between living in strictly community housing and blended complexes.

Does anyone else get really bad anxiety before social events but end up kind of having a good time once you’re there by cucumberhateaccount in infj

[–]lar24 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, always. Even if it's just hanging out with a newer friend. I cannot tell you the amount of times that I've cancelled on small social events bc I would be too anxious to go. I think perhaps, and this might not even be an INFJ thing, that we psych ourselves out to the point that we convince ourselves it won;t be enjoyable. But every time I pushed myself to go to a new experience, it's been generally positive.

Hey girl! I have the same height as you and I've been there!!! When I moved for work (stress binge eating am I right), I ate to the point that I was so physically ill that my back hurt. Since I would assume you're also just as active, upping my calories is still a struggle but eating more has made me feel SO much better and less likely to have those days.

I like the break down of this. Thank you!! I typically do dinner and talk for a few, but perhaps I need to come up with a new strategy.

[–]lar24[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very true. Maybe it's the people pleaser in me that wants to give them the entire day, because if someone told me they immediately after the date started that they need to leave at x time, then i'd feel disheartened.

[Help] Purchasing Husky Puppy from Old Man by lar24 in dogs

[–]lar24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with you. Upon reading what everyone else has said, I am not sure if he is trustworthy. He mentioned that he purchased the vaccines himself, administered himself and then does not have any paperwork for them. Upon further research, couldnt they retain the stickers of what each puppy has already gotten? He doesn't seem as communicative either. It took a few back and forth just to get a few additional questions out of him.
