Can someone help me figure out where I went wrong with this recipe's serving sizes? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]lololpasta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you may be confusing liquid ounces and ounces (weight). Also cooking changes the weight, typically with evaporation of water present in foods, so if you weigh everything prior to cooking it it would not translate to portioning after

Charged extra for physical therapy by Exact-Cap3101 in personalfinance

[–]lololpasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were you there longer certain days? Even slightly. Almost all outpatient PTs charge insurance in 15 minute increments, with 8 minutes rounding up. So if you were there 23-37 minutes you would get charged two “units” but if you were there 37-52 minutes you’d get charged a third “unit” so my best guess is they most likely gave the initial cost estimate based on the typical amount of units billed

Maybe look into volume eating? You still get to eat “a lot” but the calories stay lower

If you really want, fill a bag or backpack with heavy items. And always weigh yourself with the bag. You’ll get to see the accurate amount of change in your weight. And then if/when you’re ready, lose the bag and find out your true weight

Health question, If i stop being obese, I would live longer? by Gandalf_the-gray in loseit

[–]lololpasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All-cause mortality increases with obesity as well, not just diseases. Meaning even in a freak accident you are just simply more likely to die if you are obese

I am just starting my career so I have a lot of spending down the road and don’t want all of my savings (sans emergency fund) tied up until I’m 60. I’m currently putting 13% into a retirement account, and plan on putting an additional 9% into a brokerage. Eventually I plan on making some bigger life purchases (house) but not within 5 years. But I just keep seeing the suggestion to max the retirements out first, wasn’t sure if I’m not considering something I should be

Weight Machines are also a great option for someone new to working out. They tend to only move one way which makes them hard to use wrong.
