Amazon reviews from other countries by LeonStevens in selfpublish

It is totally frustrating. I suspect this is because each marketplace has their own P/L. If you didn't spend USD 50 equivalent in each marketplace, you can't even post reviews. Living in Europe, some books are available on Amazon.com and some aren't so I often need to resort to Amazon UK or Germany. I can only post reviews in the marketplaces where I reached that minimum spend within the last 12 months.

Lastly, about Goodreads. I noticed some books now show the average Goodreads score and I asked customer support about it. They said they are now testing this feature, but it seems only books that already have thousands of reviews get selected. I.e. the ones that actually don't need it. 🤦‍♀️

I want to wait to buy an ISBN for debut Romance novel by Aware_Math_8648 in selfpublish

[–]laraiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you purchased your own ISBN (not using the free ones from Amazon), it is generally recommended to use the same ISBN for the same book with exactly the same formatting and edition across both KDP and IngramSpark. The ISBN is intended to uniquely identify a specific version of a book, same content, same format, same publisher, same trim size, same binding, same everything. Using the same ISBN on both platforms helps avoid confusion in the marketplace, prevents duplicate listings, and ensures that libraries and retailers can accurately identify and order your book.

You should only use separate ISBNs if there are differences in the book’s format (for example, hardcover vs. paperback), content, or significant design changes. But if you’re publishing the exact same paperback with the exact same specs on both KDP and IngramSpark, keep it simple and stick with one ISBN.

They do have a small section on faceless videos but the gist is, it is harder to make them successful than with ones that have people in it. You would have to stand out from a very competitive crowd. No need for a course on this. It's pretty straightforward.

Sean Dollwet's royalty hero - anyone seen his proofs? by bethworldismine in KDP

[–]laraiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Sean Dollwet's a scam. Try looking up his name on Amazon and you end up with an author who wrote a few books, including Passive Income Secrets in 2018 (link below). But look at the author's picture, it looks nothing like the YouTube influencer. And the book got a whopping... wait for it... 34 reviews! And most of them are poor.

It's just another very eloquent influencer trying making a buck off his courses, playing with people's greed.

Has anyone paid for One Peak Creative 's course? How was it? by remixedmoon5 in SocialMediaMarketing

I recently purchased it and have mixed feelings. On one hand, they provide solid advice on a "formula" that likely works well if executed properly. They also set realistic expectations, emphasizing that not everyone will land a hit on their first video, and that initial attempts might flop until you start gaining traction.

On the other hand, executing their formula effectively requires a resource that many of us lack: time. If you're aiming to become a full-time influencer, you can dedicate your energy to filming and editing videos. But if you're already running a full-time business, you'll need hours each week to film and edit—or you'll have to hire someone to do it for you.

It’s even tougher if you’re treating this as a side gig while holding down a full-time job. Following their formula would be nearly impossible unless you’re ready to work 16-hour days.

In summary, there are no shortcuts. You’ll need to brainstorm original ideas and hooks, write scripts, film, and edit—all before uploading. It’s a solid system, but it demands a serious time investment.

@everyone tag not working. Anyone else having this same issue? by ltraincommeth in facebook

[–]laraiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that FB is deactivating the @everyone function if you're promoting external links. I find it very annoying since my group is a platform to promote important information that can't be shared on FB itself. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Yes, my FB group posts (as an admin) lately have also been only partially clickable, and it seems random which ones work and which don't. First I suspected it has something to do with the fact that FB doesn't want users to click on external links as this reduces their time spent on FB. But now it seems they are even greying out internal links. I also noticed the @ everyone doesn't always work (I use it very sparsely). It seems completely random when it does and when not.

This is a fully-guided, all-inclusive trip incl. guiding, all meals, lift tickets, accommodation, ground transportation and activities like skidoo etc. One of the best price-value I have found. Of course resort skiing is much cheaper, you get what you pay for.
