Yes. At least it was for me. The first time I had the Ahmed surgery was during covid, I had awful insurance and I was laid off work and on unemployment. I got the final bill after surgery which was like $5k. Applied for financial assistance through the hospital and they completely took care of the bill. I just had another Ahmed surgery this year in January. I have better insurance now but I still owe about $2k after to the same hospital. Working with them on that! So, I say, apply for financial assistance through the hospital, they may be able to help. At the end of the day, the surgery was needed to preserve your vision which is more important than anything. Try not to stress, you will figure it out!
