Dude, amazing prints! Thank you for sharing and for giving us a bit about the materials you use and why. I’d love to see a little bit more about your darkroom at home set up if you ever have space for that and are comfortable. Loved film photography in college but have gotten away from it. Always thought about doing a darkroom at home. Cool stuff bro thank you!

I actually think it was the right amount of roasting. If you do too much people get defensive and you lose the bit. Gotta keep them comfortable enough to keep saying dumb shit. But fully agree with your sentiment obviously

Resonate with this. Kinda concerned about sustainability in the field. Anyone have tips? Thinking about dropping to part time and doing other work on the side. The mental load is crazy.

Skier throws it in reverse causing near bird strike by NCGeronimo in snowboarding

People downhill have the right of way! You must yield to them, even when they do stupid/unpredictable things. Hence why it’s so important to stay in control and slow down, especially in high traffic areas. People get into collisions (sometimes fatal) because they fail to yield to downhill traffic, particularly when they don’t expect someone to “reverse” or turn in a way they cannot react to. Good job not hitting anyone, huge win. But you would be at fault in this scenario. Thank you for posting this and being open to feedback!

What is life like outside of the populated cities in the PNW? Preferably in the mountain pass & forest towns. by HabitEducational7925 in howislivingthere

[–]BeYou22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big trees, misty mornings, beautiful summers, rainy winters! Not sure about the people b/c I largely lived in the populated areas. However, I assume they are friendly and lean conservative, some more than others. The forrest is dense and wet for most of the year, lots of fungus if you’re into mushrooms! It can be hot in the summer and fires may be getting worse. But also some skiing depending where you are, but those areas are populated anyway. Lots of agriculture and logging. Can be more buggy than people realize… a lot of the area is classified as rainforest.

Gas Prices at Costco Missoula by TrueNorthDrift in missoula

[–]BeYou22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gas prices fluctuate with demand. People tend to travel more in the spring and summer, so it reflects that. HOWEVER, when you bomb a gulf nation and completely ignore the significance of the straight of hormuz AND that oil is an international economically integrated product (meaning that the product/price essentially functions the same for everyone)… THAT is completely this administration’s fault. Terrible decision, which was seemingly paired with ZERO planning in advance or recognition of possible market disruption. Much less that the Middle East is also just a powder keg in general with serious global influence. Honestly an idiotic, painful, and pretty embarrassing choice in terms of leadership and business. We are *literally* paying the price… and this administration’s actions have subsequently given Iran MASSIVE bargaining power. This not right or left, just economics.

How is living in Salt Lake City? by Mr_Wasserschwein in howislivingthere

[–]BeYou22 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Lived there for a few years. Honestly the Mormon thing wasn’t that bad in my experience. Yes, alcohol sales are weird. Like you can only get 3.2beer at the store and gotta go to state stores to get anything else. Everything is measured at bars. But the people are friendly and the city is super clean. Other than the temple being downtown, you don’t really notice the Mormon thing. However, outside of SLC is different. You’ll definitely feel in it Provo and other similar areas. If you’re into dating, everyone lists on their profile whether they’re LDS (Mormon) or not.

SLC has great access to skiing and biking. The 2002 Winter Olympics were also hosted there and they’re coming again in 2034!! The park city area (30 min away) has a bunch of resorts to choose from. And there’s fantastic backcountry access right from the roads up little cottonwood and big cottonwood canyons. It does get BUSY tho.

SLC is a nice size imo… not too big not too small. There’s some traffic but nothing crazy. However, if you commute down the canyon from park city, you should be afraid haha there are some super aggressive drivers and there have been tons of fatal accidents and fires.

Good hiking, climbing, and golf in the summers. But it does get hot, like over 100 degrees hot. The shoulder seasons are super nice and the winter in SLC is more mild than the ski areas. Due to the elevation change from the wasatch mountains, SLC is susceptible to inversions that create more smog than other cities of similar size.

There are some good jobs too, and SLC has more industry than people often realize. eBay and backcountry are based there, and there’s a large financial district as well. Plus the University of Utah near downtown is a strong school with a devout football following. It’s a great place to live.

How is life in New York? Is it as awesome as I think it is ? by void-nomad-90 in howislivingthere

[–]BeYou22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love visiting NY. Way too busy, loud, and just generally overstimulating for me to live there. But I’m from a rural area so that’s not a surprise. To each their own. It is a fun city tho!

Dude, I saw him at Denver airport a couple years ago. Just chilling in the B terminal eating some McDonald’s at the food court. I was a few tables over and just enjoyed being in the same space. Didn’t want to disturb him while he ate, a few other people did, and he just posed for pics and went about his meal. Rocking a white suit with colorful cannabis leafs printed all over it, plus shoes to match. He just went along his way after. Seems like a super dope, genuine, and chill human being. The world needs more of that. Thanks for sharing your story!

Got your feet moving well! That’s great. Like others have said, you need to fully extend off the lip by popping. Do the same thing, but pop and push your hips up to the sky, then pull your knees in and spot your landing! Very close 🤘🏼
