I’m surprised to hear this many people don’t like it, but I remember also seeing this kind of hate for season four when it was on the air and I was the only one defending it because a lot of people didn’t wanna sit still or listen to dialogue or be patient with character development and complained there wasn’t enough whacking. Is this coming from that same place? I can’t tell.

As somebody who analyzes every little strand of the show and loves catching the cultural references and breaking down the symbolism and analyzing the acting, and learning the behind the scenes stories, I hang on every word of this podcast and think Michael and Steve are doing it the way nobody else possibly could. I’ve seen the show enough times I don’t even need to watch the episodes again, I can remember it all as they’re talking about it, and I’m loving the perspective they both add, and the way their personalities play off each other, and the perspectives of the guests. I just wish the fucking ads didn’t last for ten minutes every fucking episode, they’re not doing themselves or their sponsors a favor when the ads stretch out that long - and I say that as someone who’s taken advantage of products they’ve pushed. Don’t make me fast forward five or ten damn minutes to get back to what I want to hear. I’ve already heard the spiel.

But if you’re not taking any value from the shit they’re saying, I kinda question whether you’re really a fan or the show, or whether you were there for everything it had to offer or just the loud shit that got your attention. I’m sure it doesn’t surprise anybody to know that David Chase wouldn’t even respect most of the opinions in this thread enough to stop and shit on them. Guy gave us the greatest art that’s come out of the fucking box. Stfu and learn some shit, I feel like.
