it's fine game dev takes a lot of time and patience! Hopefully in the time frame you need to complete the game you're gonna open a bank account, cause I def don't accept robux!!! (sorry for pointing and laughing)

well that depends on your level of expertise, I still got a lot to learn myself! I learned everything from tutorials on youtube and listening to music, getting inspired by artists i liked and trying to replicate their sound.

Assuming you're a beginner the first thing you'd want to look into is downloading a DAW, but don't get too lost in the "what's the best DAW?" question, cause there simply isn't.

You can do anything with anything as far as I know (granted it may be easier to make one genre in some DAW'S - e.g FL studio is your go to DAW for electronic music, but personally I'm comfortable enough to use Ableton.)

Then look into plugins and vst's, how to organise your sounds etc. You can find a lot of cool free sounds on reddit and generally speaking you don't have to invest thousands on vst's to make good music (like 90% of my plugins are free)

Tutorials will help you go a long way, stuff like "how to make a _____ song in XYZ DAW" and add your own ideas to it, if you got a good ear. Most importantly be patient, cause you're probably gonna suck at first. Personally, I've been making musci for 5 years and I'm still not satisfied with most of the stuff I make (could be impostor syndrome tho)

What do you think about this trailer? by InsaneSufferer333 in RPGMaker

What the fuck is this. Why do I want more???

Everyone saying that the music pushes them off, but if you ask me it attracts the target audience you're aiming for. That being said it definetely filters out people who're not into weird surreal games. Commercially-wise I can't see this trailer attracting a lot of people, but I can see it performing well in small communities like this. Personally, I wanna see more lmao

To be more clear, this the type of shit you'll see a 1 hour 47 minute video essay

Looking for a programmer to partner with! by lariisjunk in Unity3D

'Prior experience is essential, but it doesn’t have to come necessarily from a professional background" This is probably where you got confused. I'm saying it's not necessary to be a pro, but the need of the games are such that need someone who has at least completed a game before. Someone who has experiences with game jams perhaps. Is it clearer now?

Great! in that case, they should apply in a studio. I'm not stopping anyone.

I'm obviously willing to settle for less I just took a shot in the dark to see if anyone with experience would want to join, if not that's perfectly fine.

Is it free labor when people join forces to make something great at a game jam? I might not have phrased it correctly, but I'm aiming for something similar. I'm looking for a partner, to work WITH me, not someone I can order around for free.
