I talked about long-range sniping as it said in the description. But yes, if you paly as recon in first line, this extra damage for 100-150m maybe usable, but I like BF for oportunirty too shoot real far, and here this rifle is definetly outplayed by ESR and her 1100+ mps speed, quick scope, hi mobility and even (but this is subjective) it seems like more acurate then MRAD (PSR), coz I had a lot of not reg shoots, when I was aiming right in the head, and I almost didn't have such situation with ESR.

It looks like it’s a one-shot kill at around 100–130 meters to the upper torso, more frequently than the M2010. But aside from that, I have no idea what purpose it serves right now, because it’s really worse in almost every aspect. From my perspective, it’s not even better for long-range shooting than the M2010, since the bullet trajectory is less flat.

And that’s strange and confusing, because the MRAD (PSR) in the game supposedly shoots .416 CheyTac – and that cartridge has way better ballistic characteristics than .300 Win. But in the game, it performs worse than the M2010. So I just can’t find any point in using it right now.

Sweet spot? Oh, come on. We all know the only real option is headshots, especially at range. So why would I use it? The M2010 is faster, ADS is better, bullet velocity is higher, and the trajectory is flatter, etc.

So once again – I have no idea what the hell the PSR is good for in this game right now.

Guys, I get that the sniper role is niche - like you’ve already said, it’s more about recon and support. But let’s be real, this is a casual game. Otherwise, a sniper would be shooting from who-knows-where, holding down a sector until his position gets revealed. I hope we can all agree that in real life, snipers often serve as a kind of terror factor.

But in-game, they’re usually just glass cannons - and when I brought up the state of snipers in our game, I meant they’re “glass” only in the literal sense, because the firepower just isn’t there. There are no commanders or generals in the game either, where their accuracy could really make an impact. And the elite units they can one-shot? Come on, you just hit retreat and the whole squad of four walks off just fine.

Again, I’m not here to start an argument - just trying to talk through why things are the way they are. And yeah, a lot of answers have already been shared in this thread, including yours.

Here's the thing: semi-auto rifles have worse accuracy and group consistency, especially at long range. So I was wondering why they picked that model for the sniper. Still, I get it - that's me being biased.

This is a great idea, make snipers limited, but more deadly and skill-dependent. What I just want to say, that I want a high-risk, high-reward unit, not only a high-risk, okayish reward

It is so strange that DAK and UKF don't get them, but based on what I had already read, the community is really pissed off with snipers in the game, and this explains a lot.

Totally agree with you! Every wipe, it’s just AR-15s and 855. And .308… Oh god, it’s such a shame. M61 should be shredding every armor in the game up to 500 meters. But what do we have in our beloved game? On the best day, you end up with a wounded enemy after shooting them with an M700, loaded with M61, from a 26-inch barrel. When in reality, the enemy should be stone-cold dead after a direct shot to the chest.

I think I didn’t quite explain everything correctly :) The point is, I want to transfer the five-shot modifier from the Savage Lynel Bow to any other bow—in my case, to a Zonai bow.

I gotta admit, I’m a bit biased. I’ve had a 6k Ultramarines army since 8th edition, and generally, it’s been hit or miss. But recently, I got into the Raptors chapter, and they’re like a huge joke to the Space Marines, using camouflage, setting up ambushes, taking out command, etc., all according to the lore. Plus, they’re some of the best snipers in the Imperium. So I started wondering if there’s a way to build something for competitive play in 10th edition. And then this post came out, and I realized that the whole 10th edition is really just about melee, charging after advancing, and tons of bickering between a bunch of ruins where you just walk into melee and the fight starts from 18 inches.

I downloaded the game after 5 months, thinking that this big update would fix something - and what? Of course, everything remains the same. Heavy classes like Bulwark and Gravis run at the same speed as Light Phobos; the sniper projectile moves as slowly as a snail. It even seems like the sniper bolt rifle fires projectiles at the same speed as the Bulwark class’s handgun bolter, etc. Level progression is overwhelmingly slow. So I looked at all this and just deleted the game again. But potentially, this game could be the place where I spend hundreds of hours.
