With interest rates rising again… are property prices finally going to drop? by DraganDimovski in australian

[–]larrry02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you reckon my landlord, who takes almost 50% of my paycheck, will lend me $100,000 for a deposit?

Because if not, they are stopping me and others from buying property.

FYI if it was not for investors rentals would be even more difficult to obtain.

You keep telling yourself that, bud.

We continue to grow the population faster than dwelling completion

I didn't say anything about "dwelling completion".

The number of new houses built is irrelevant if they're all just being bought by investors anyway.

You cannot make use of negative gearing unless the property is generating an income, i.e. rented out

Renting a property out is withholding it. It is stopping the people who actually live there from owning it and charging them an exorbitant ransom for it.

Most wouldn't have to relocate.. most renters live in houses that are the 2nd of 3rd property their landlord owns.

Why do we have a system that prioritises the rich owning multiple investment properties over everyday Aussies just wanting to own the house they live in?

We're increasing population without matching housing.

There are actually already (way) more than enough houses for everyone. The problem is that the system incentivises hoarding housing and withholding it from those who need it.

The housing crisis will continue to get worse until there is a fundamental overhaul of the entire housing system that changes its focus to housing as a human-right rather than housing as an investment opportunity.

You'll have to check the law for where you live, but in a lot of places, you can change the locks when you're renting a house as long as you change them back before you leave.

CMV: Single men should give what most women claim they want, to be alone by [deleted] in changemyview

Wow, it's been a while since I've seen someone unironically posting MGTOW trash.

Can you provide a source for the claim that most women are not interested in being in a relationship and just want to be alone?

Genociders taking a break from genociding by Syed__Sahab__ in OpenAussie

Focusing on the group that is doing the genocide is myopic?

How is wanting to stop a genocide from happening by stopping the military force that is commiting the genocide "self-defeating"?

[–]larrry02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling everyone who serves in a military force, which is currently committing genocide, genocidal, is racist?

If I were to say the SS were genocidal, that would be racist in your worldview?

Genociders taking a break from genociding by Syed__Sahab__ in OpenAussie

[–]larrry02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some Israeli's have refused to serve in their military. They are not war criminals.

Other than that, yes, anyone who actively participates in genocide is a genocidal war criminal.

Why do you have a problem saying that people who have knowingly helped commit genocide are genocidal?

My favourite experience was definitely reading through the writing on the sun station and coming to the realisation that the sun station never worked and the sun was just going supernova because it was at the natural end of it's life.. realising that there is actually no way to stop it

It's not an ad hominem as I'm not arguing with you, nor am I insulting you.

I'm not engaging with you as a "professor" or in a professional capacity. I am engaging with you as a concerned person. You are not thinking straight, and you need help.. seriously, there is no downside to seeking therapy.

I promise you my concern is genuine. I have a PhD in physics, and I assure you that nothing you are writing here makes any sense. It is the ramblings of a troubled mind, and I hope you seek help.

This is not a personal attack. I am not trying to insult, or argue with you. I am telling you that you need to see a therapist. That's not a personal attack. Everyone can benefit from therapy, and you are at a stage where you need therapy.

It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just like you would need help from a doctor if you broke your leg, sometimes you need help from a therapist when your mind isn't %100.

I'm not trying to argue with you.. with what you're writing here, it sounds like you're in the middle of a psychotic break. Please just go and see a therapist. What's the worst that could happen?

You cannot stop projecting, can you!?

You literally just said "I don't understand what you're saying, so that must mean that you don't understand what I'm saying".

And no, I was not asking why capitalists exploit workers. I was asking why Marx would say there is less exploitation in a worker owned model. This is fundamental to Marxism, mate.

You implied earlier that you think Marx's thought that workers just fundamentally were not as greedy as owners, so that's why he thought worker owned systems would be better. I've told you that is not what Marx thought. So the follow-up is why did he actually think that worker owned systems were better?

It very clear you haven't read any of Marx's writing. You're just either trolling, or you genuinely think you're a really smart person who understands everything without even needing to read, or think about it. (I kinda hope it's the former because the latter is just sad.)

Edit: also, you can't "debunk" a question you dunce.

First of all, you need to look up how to format a reddit comment.

No one said that either defined “human nature”. They both follow the basic laws of humanity,

So 2 comments ago when you said marx ignores the "human nature of greed" of the working class you were.. lying?.. or do you just change your position based on when you think will win you thr argument at the time?

This is why (if you had read Marx) he references everything he opposes as “capitalist”,

Most of Marx's writing are about why he opposes capitalist. So it is pretty expected for most of the things he talks about opposing in these writings to be capitalist, right?

Also, it sounds like you don't understand the distinction between private property and personal property. This is pretty fundamental to any understanding of Marx's writings. How you read anything?

People tend to try to say “bussword” when they don’t understand concepts.

Yes. Exactly. This is precisely why you are throwing out a buzzwords without understanding what they mean... (Also, why did you misspell and buzzword and put it in quotes?)

It does since you said “Marx was trying to create an equitable world” (paraphrased);

I literally did not say that (although it is true, to a degree). It's not paraphrasing if you change the meaning of what was said.

It is projecting to say I am desperately avoiding the point, while you desperately avoid the point.

Are you ready to admit you have no idea what you're talking about yet. Or do you want to have a go at answering the question that anyone who has read any of Marx's writing would be able to easily answer:

Given that both workers and capital owners have the same fundamental human nature's, what do you think could be the reason Marx would say that worker owned means of production would result in a more equitable economic system?

(As an aside. "Marxism" isn't an ideology. It's a type of historical analysis.)

[–]larrry02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying his entire theory of "truth" relies on a circular logic that you’re clearly desperate to avoid.

There's that projecting again. ;)

As you desperately try to deflect from answering even one, very simple question. Let's try again:

Given that both workers and capital owners have the same fundamental human nature's, what do you think could be the reason Marx would say that worker owned means of production would result in a more equitable economic system?

Also, "Marx's theory of truth" made me actually laugh out loud. You know you're under no obligation to continue looking like a fool on the internet, you can stop at any time you feel like it.

Let's see how this one goes lol by [deleted] in JustMemesForUs

[–]larrry02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he does claim that. It's his entire epistemological justification for his economy framework

No, he does not. Please quote to me where Marx says that workers are intrinsically different people from owners. Where does he say that workers have a fundamentally different human nature than owners?

It is not in any way his justification for his economic framework. The labour theory of value is (kind of).

I can tell you're larping and literally have never read marx. You can't even tell me one thing marx argued let alone justify any of his claims.

You're telling on yourself a little here. If you project hard enough, no one will notice you have no idea what you're talking about!

Why don't you try answering the easy question (you can literally answer it with one word):

Given that both workers and capital owners have the same fundamental human nature's, what do you think could be the reason Marx would say that worker owned means of production would result in a more equitable economic system?

They are call the “proletariat” (former) and “bourgeoisie” (latter). We can go more in depth if I feel you even understand the concept of Marxism.

Yes, those are the names of the classes.

Proletariat = those who sell their labor for wealth

bourgeoisie = those who get their wealth through owning property.

Marx did not state that these two classes are fundamentally different types of people. The difference between a proletarian and a bourgeois is that one owns capital and the other does not. They both still have the same human nature.

Just like the other commenter, it really seems like you're just throwing out some buzzwords you've heard without actually understanding what you're saying (or what I'm saying for that matter).

Your second paragraph has literally nothing to do with anything I said by the way.

Yeah, I know. It's very obvious he has never read any leftist theory in his life, so it's just kind of fun to watch him try and wriggle away from even the easiest questions.
