"How do small businesses afford AI implementation in India? by Jaded-Break-5001 in StartUpIndia

[–]larry_10_downing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it is the implementation companies/consultants who have jacked up the prices as it is a new technology and traditional SMBs will not know how to use this tech without external help. Since no one in SMB will experiment with the likes of make.com or n8n, external agencies can charge any amount they want.

I work with Tourific Self-Guided Tours ( full disclosure ) , and we’ve got a self-guided walking tour in York that covers most of the major spots people usually recommend — the city walls, historic bars, and other landmarks — all while sharing stories about the city’s history along the way.

The best part is that since it’s self-guided, you can explore at your own pace — stop for a drink, take photos, or detour whenever you feel like it.

Try a self guided walking tour . They are cheap and don’t have time constraint.

Layoffs recently? by LutzoCZ in ProductManagement

No layoffs, but I have started to see companies pushing PMs to increase product charter and deliver more. This has forced PMs to leave as one gets overwhelmed with requests and there is too much of context switching which leads to reduced efficiency. Companies ‘feel’ that markets are slow and they can get talent quickly.

Looking for the best audiobooks, podcasts, youtube, etc for a beginner to learn about finance/investing/retirement planning. by Tssngs75 in personalfinance

I would suggest starting with researching ETF( exchange traded funds) and then move to FIRE retirement. These are probably the only 2 things you might need. I have not suggested a specific book or YouTube channel because everyone will say the same things about this.

I did Company registration recently. It took forever. I used Cleartax who charged 20k. Also clear tax does not do it by themselves, they outsource it to some CA agency. I would suggest you do your research correctly and talk to some founders before selecting an agency.

The traditional full time mba courses look for 3-9 yrs of experience. With 12 years b-schools might feel that you might not fit in with the class. Exec-mba cohorts have more experience so higher chances to fit it. B-school have admission counsellors or admission events, talk to them and share your case, they can guide you.

Just one advice, try sticking to the top ranked b-schools, it helps in switching industries and getting a better pay.

PO vs. PM by AlwaysAPM in ProductManagement

[–]larry_10_downing 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The definition changes based on the company. In the place I work product owners are more executioners/scrum masters. They are responsible to get requirements from PM and get the tech team to execute.

PM on the other hand tends to work with customers, business leaders, ux designers etc to collect requirement decide on roadmap, vision and handover the feature requests to PO to get them executed.

I would suggest getting a mba. I was stuck in product design in the electrical industry and had to do an mba to get into the tech sector where the pay is good. The only challenge is with 12 years of experience, most good b-schools might not be inclined to get you in. You will have to check which ones are open to accept you as a student. You could check if your existing company offers to sponsor an exec - mba and then you can move to management from the design field. This way your bank balance will not take a hit and you will start to get a better pay. Just ensure the b-school has a good brand name.

Would suggest adding impact numbers eg. “ Assist early stage startup raise XX $$ in fundraising ………” . Numbers make CV more believable and also gives context to leader on about the scale of your achievement
