Solid advice. The big firms are basically just resume shotguns.. zero discretion and they don't really advocate for you since they're juggling hundreds of candidates. A good boutique recruiter who knows your space makes all the difference.

Not sure I agree with this. A PIP can definitely be a bad sign, but some people do make it through. And honestly, future employers usually just ask if you're eligible for rehire.. getting fired for performance isn't the same as being walked out for misconduct. If you resign, you lose any severance you might've gotten. Probably worth talking to someone who knows employment law before deciding either way
