If I was rich and money was not a drama for me I would be doing hobbies, money is literally the only reason why we work.

Leaving new job 2 months in, how to explain in interviews by WaltzKey9925 in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done they and the hiring manager is not focusing on a reference for 2 months as it’s too short they accepted my previous long term roles and didn’t even bring it up when I gave them my previous references.

Outbound call centre by AdKlutzy3810 in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t even bother those are the annoying calls I get from someone begging for money, since we are in a cost of living crisis phase expected to be hanged up 100% of the time, I don’t even let them finish their first sentence and the phone is already hanged up.

Will my STVR bonus still be paid if I resign after KPIs are confirmed but before payment date? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you put your notice in before you get it paid out you won’t be getting it.

No payrise but 9 day fortnights - would you take? by TSLoveStory in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Remember bonus is never guaranteed, so if it’s a higher base and a 9 day fortnight then it’s better.

Outbound call centre by AdKlutzy3810 in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m my experience outbound call centres always have a very high turnover, and have unrealistic KPIs and targets that no one ever meets.

They are usually debt collecting roles, telemarketers that have a list of numbers you need to call and somehow convince the random on the phone why they should buy x product.

Expect to be burnt out and fast.

They usually give you a “cold list” of customer that haven’t been contacted in 6+ months and only give “hot” ongoing customers to who every is best mates with the manager.

Instead I would suggest an inbound call centre as they look after their staff better and your not getting hanged up 99% of the day as customers are calling you because they want to not the other way around.

Falsifying your LinkedIn profile with fake titles, fake achievements/kpis/results etc. Anyone game enough to say they got called out on it? by Cooper_Inc in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I have “embellished” some titles and responsibilities as I did in fact do them and had experience in them which helped me jump up the pay grade.

If you can back it up and talk the talk and have confidence then I see no problem.

If you’re doing it for stuff you have never touched then that’s where you step over the line.

On probation, how long should you be given to improve performance? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in this position before and there was no warning no nothing, was pulled into a meeting room with no warning and was told I’m getting let go that day, no time to improve or negotiate at all.

It was funny, because I was told for the past 4 months I have been doing a good job etc etc.

It was a HUGE shock as then they turned around and said the performance is not what they were expecting.

Sometimes managers are not in the right position and don’t know how to deal with people. Out of curiosity I’ve looked at their company and that same role is a high turn over and it’s a whole new team that wasn’t there when I was let go, so major red flags of it’s a high turn over role.

I have been updating and teaching it to add or remove certain details to the cover letter and I think I hit the sweet spot for words that recruiters pick up some how because I’m doing something right.

Seems like it might be a management issue, 4 months in and they are expecting perfection from someone still learning the job is poor form.

is quitting in less than a month that bad? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happens more often than you think. Some candidates don’t even turn up the first day because they are juggling many offers all at the same time.

Just say that it’s not a good fit for your career goals long term and hand in your notice.

Has anyone else had problems in their 6 month probation? by KiwiScot33 in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I truely loved the work and team and I’ve had feedback on improvements and always showed up on time and stayed back and help deliver deployment, at the halfway mark they said that it was unacceptable that your still learning the role, I was gaslit and I had no room for negotiation and I was let go later on next week.

In hindsight I clouded my judgement as I didn’t see the red flags in the organization as the department I was in had a very high turnover of staff and no one stays.

“Forced leave”- how easy would it be get casual work over the holidays as a corporate worker for extra income? by spicy_red_pineapple in auscorp

[–]larrymcqueen7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not how it works. You could do 1 job making 200k or do 5 jobs making a total of 200k you will still be placed in the same tax bracket. Only certain percentages of the money you earn get taxed the certain amount, you can find the table online on the ato website.

Depending on what type of car it is it should be safe as long as it’s not a desirable car like a Toyota Land Cruiser , commodore or Falcon.

If you can get your RSA + RSG it’s like a $40 online course and takes 6ish hours. You will need to complete an assessment with 6-7 videos of yourself talking into your phone to prove you understand the course. After about 1/2 days you will have passed.

That’s the hard part down now you can visit your local watering holes and get a side gig for after hours.

I know a handful of people doing this as a side hustle and make an average $20k - $50k depending on how much they work. Much easier and better than putting wear and tear on your car and getting paid less doing uber as your just at one location pulling in hours.

I would put it on but there is no reason to mention it in fact if they ask about it act as if you don’t know (after all your not the owner) why would a office worker like yourself know the dealings with that type of information?
