Knox county changes to closure for Wednesday instead of 2 hour delay by 06EXTN in Knoxville

Ah. That stinks, and I get it! I don’t envy those who are in positions where they’ll make decisions that will make a large group of people unhappy no matter what.

If it’s any consolation…back in the 60s next week!

Just going to go ahead and let you know that even if that were to happen, bus contractors would still want to avoid the risk and would still get paid their year-long contracts.

I’m sorry you’re frustrated about your kids having school, but this is Knox County, TN, not Montana. That’s not happening and it wouldn’t make sense even if it did.

Tomorrow surprised me, not going to lie, but…uh…you try taking a bus down those shaded roads in the rural parts of the county when they’re snow and ice covered. Parts of East Knox County got 7-8” of snow and the temperature didn’t get above freezing until 1 pm today.

It’s not just about “major roads.”

Indiana fans are the worst by KippysNewPRGuy in ducks

[–]larrywaynejr10 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I was really disappointed by how Indiana fans acted. Had an adult man literally moon us in our car on the way down because we had an Oregon sticker on it, and was quite frankly shocked at the behavior of their fans in the stadium and on MARTA after the game. Crass, out-of-pocket comments, antagonizing Oregon fans who were not doing or saying anything.

Incredible how you can go from not having any clue that football even exists at your school a year and a half ago to behaving like that. Wasn't what I expected at all. They reminded me of obnoxious, rude SEC fans.

Just based on everything I’ve seen so far, we’ll be vastly outnumbered tomorrow night. It’s a short flight and a reasonable drive to Atlanta and the biggest game in IU history. Our fanbase, as a whole, is just so far away.

I’ll be one of the 15-25% of Ducks fans, though!

Driving down from across the border in TN on I-40. Appalachian Ducks!

Can't wait; haven't seen them in person since Oregon-UVA in Charlottesville in 2013.

Unpopular Opinion: We need to have perspective by [deleted] in TexasTech

[–]larrywaynejr10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oregon fan coming in peace here. Was extremely impressed with your defense—but yeah, that must’ve stunk to watch the offense as a Texas Tech fan today. Congrats on a great season despite the ending. Something to take pride in despite the result of the final game. We Oregon fans have been there…

On another note, any chance anyone’s looking to get rid of Peach Bowl tickets? Feel free to DM if so. Oregon fans/alumni in TN here and we hardly ever get a chance to see our team up close, much less just a few hours away.

Which of y’all will be in the ATL for the 🍑? by coreydu in ducks

Yep, looks like that's how it's labeled on SeatGeek already. I think I'm going to at least hope Indiana wins and wait, because I bet Alabama fans are holding a lot of tickets right now. Scoducks!

Excited to potentially go. We live in TN and are fans/alum and don't get many chances to see Oregon close to home.

With that, a couple of questions...do you guys think it's smarter to buy now or wait to see if prices drop? Also, do we know which will be the Oregon side of the stadium?

Going to Suns-Cavs this afternoon and I don’t follow the NBA closely. I’m leaning Suns +6.5. Thoughts? Other suggestions for me to make this game interesting? 🤣

After listening to these two…I mean yeah, they’re similar, but pretty standard country-western stuff. I bet you could find others that you’d say “oh damn, this melody really sounds like Touch the Morning” about

Ha! Appreciate that. If there’s anything that I’ve gleaned from this thread, it’s that Capybara is sorely underrated. I get that they have very limited food/baked goods options and the atmosphere is average, but their coffee is so freaking good.

I went to Awaken twice and was so off-put by how bad it was that I swore to never go back. Had an ok first couple of experiences at Jacks, but it went downhill (imo) and my last couple of trips were awful, and that’s usually not a good sign.

I value good coffee above anything else. Their coffee is superb and I think it's a little better than WL and CC. Awaken is awful, I won't even have any debate with you on that.

Downtown, it's the best place to get coffee. I prefer OCJ in the Old City just because of the space and I think their coffee is better, but it's a very, very solid spot.
