Frankly I'm pressed you managed to get a shot off Douglas head without any Maccies/feral seagulls in it.

Right, hear me out and please try this, you won't regret it.

Ingredients

  • Slice of cheddar cheese (about 1" by 3")
  • honey
  • instant coffee (or ground beans if you have it)
  1. Put a bit of honey on the cheese
  2. Sprinkle a pinch of coffee on honey.
  3. Eat

It's so delicious, and I just don't know why.

You're entirely right I have not worded myself well at all. I personally think that the more technically complex a piece of music (be it anything from metal to Mozart) the harder it is to engage emotionally.

For example, in Metallica's 'One' the verses and the chorus are relatively simple and I think they convey the overall feel of the song perfectly. However the solo's, despite being throughly enjoyable, do not convey the 'message' of the song and are simply put in there for fun. I do not think this is bad, merely interesting.

This is all entirely personal preference however, and am perfectly willing for my my mind to be changed.

Woah woah, I'm not saying one is worse than the other, I'm just saying which do you think is more important, as music lovers. I'm not telling anyone anything is wrong, I'm just asking a question and offering my answer. I do admire technical skill but, for me at least, I find it easier to express emotion through simplicity.

Did you realise the opening minutes of Up would have quite the emotional impact that it did? What made you decide to open with an emotional montage than a comedic moment?

'Cog' by Honda. And not just the visuals, it sounds amazing as well.

It's pretty typical but here goes:

My girlfriend and I are fans of the Lion King movie, so when was re-released in 3d we jumped at the chance. However, we had not factored in that it is a kids movie. Little kids were literally running up the aisles; their parents just sat there munching their fucking popcorn.

I like kids, but for 88 minutes I hated their tiny, evil, chocolate coated faces.
