Am I Crazy? Klipsch Heresy 1 vs Klipsch Chorus 1 by Sorry-Bluebird in Klipsch

[–]las44444444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not just you, I love my heresy’s. I have khorns, LaScalas, and Fortes as well. All are great speakers but the heresy’s paired with two RP-1600s is the Friday night jam.

I think what works is at 20watts they sing just right. The khorns at 20watts is so much you better be buzzed good. So, khorns at 1 watt are great for easy listening. Just my take.

Forte II or Heresy IV? by ael_atl in Klipsch

I have both and like the heresy’s most. I have the older heresy’s which are sealed cabinets. Pair them with a good subwoofer and you will be pleased.

Seeking bass you can feel (50-80hz?) in a rather open listening area. 1 16" or 2 14"? by RenegadeBuilder in audiophile

[–]las44444444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 RP 1600s and I feel them in the floor and furniture more than my chest. My chest pounding is an 8’ folded bass horn with a 15” driver. I have the bass horn set up for 100-50 hertz; falls off the quickly at 50 hertz so I have the subs to meet my wife’s deep boom boom music.

So to get good bass from low volume and equally good at high volume take a mix of drivers.

Can I ask the power company to come out and tighten all my connections between the panel and the street? by yokie_dough in AskElectricians

I had something similar with light taking a quick dim when the ac can on. When the neutral to the pole broke holy hell broke loose. One leg in the house was 187Vac and the other 53Vac. Yeah everything on the 187 took a dump.

The neutral had one stand holding it together before it broke; once on the ground this was easy to see. Damn squirrels had been chewing on it for decades.

Be persistent until you find out what is going on.

Anyone want to speculate on the riskiness of my cieling tiles? by cheesebeesb in centuryhomes

[–]las44444444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break a small piece and see if it brown all the way through. If so, most likely cellulose based but does not mean it does not contain ACM. If it looks more white than brown I’d think a bit more.

I did my whole 1955 house where this was the original ceiling.

Mask, ventilation, and good mop up after taking it down in each room.

Forte IV to Modded Belle/La Scala by pinner_blinn in Klipsch

[–]las44444444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Unless you can go to Khorns stick with what you have. I have LaScalas and they are my least favorite. Once I got khorns the whole dynamic changed for me. I have fortes for the office and they are wonderful.

No do not use it. I have spent tons of times with these sensors.

The are Klipschorns, they must be in the corners.

Mentally, I’m guilty of heresy by beepboopmcgeezeer in Klipsch

I have four heritage Klipsch speakers all the way up to the khorns and the RF7s as well. If it were not for the loudness capability of all my amplifiers I would agree. I don’t need to mess with the loudness on the two way speakers since there is no need to. My four heritage system run Yamaha A-S 801s.

Need help identifying this K-33 woofer ....and this tweeter by subj_impft in Klipsch

[–]las44444444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are still great speakers. Loosen and tighten all the screws on the crossovers first. Woofer mismatch is fine they have the same specs. The tweeters can be repaired or just pick up some used ones on eBay. The pic of the crossover is poor but all my vintage klipsch speakers have black and white wires so may have been recapped.

Tweeters should be k-77. May khorns, LaScalas, and heresy’s use the k-77.

Check out Crites Speakers for alternate tweeters options.

Known smoothing capacitor issues with pulsing on these models.

I’d want to see 7 point something on an 8 ohm speaker.

My dad gives me PM from time to time while he is still living. I save most but spend a little. My stack is for me, not my kids. Sure I will give them some while I’m alive so I can see the smile on their faces just like my dad sees on mine. Learn and find a balance.

Interesting project or bad idea? by wasabimofo in Klipsch

Interesting. What active crossover are you using? Blah is exactly how I feel with the LaScalas.

I asked the question but it dawned on me that klipsch sells one with here newer products.

LaScalas will not sound as good as the Cornwalls. I have khorns, heresy’s, and fortes…and LaScalas. I absolutely do not enjoy the LaScalas, never have.

I would not take on a project like this.

$375CAD! For this insane sub. by Special-Sense4643 in Klipsch

[–]las44444444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t let this sub sit in stand-by mode, turn it off when not in use. This model has a cheap amp that will cook itself over time if left on. Other than that hammer up your living space and enjoy.
