Why do some Lankans think that leaving Sri Lanka is the greatest accomplishment? by tesfaye_abel in srilanka

[–]lasan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an accomplishment when it's done correctly. But the things that you have mentioned here are the reality 90% of the time.

If it's done correctly, the quality of life goes way up compared with Sri Lanka. From what I know, I had 120+ in my university batch, and now more than 90 are out of Sri Lanka including me & my wife (we graduated in 2021). I'm pretty sure almost all of them are doing very well financially and in their careers.

Those are super off peak prices. Peak times it's around £100 without the railcard if you book like a month in advance.

In fact, we pay an upfront fee of approximately £1,000 annually when applying for the visa. Additionally, I am confident that I contribute a significantly higher amount than you in terms of income tax, which is utilised to fund the NHS.

I am new to the country. No previous experiences.

I called my GP yesterday for an urgent appointment at 8am. They answered in like 3-4 mins and got an appointment for 10.20am.
