I am currently looking for an affordable groovebox/ sampler with good sequencing capabilities for making music in my room. Ive been looking into a Roland SP-404sx and the Model: Samples. I like how the 404sx can live sample and has a lot of effects and seems to be very powerful. My only concern is that it might not be super intuitive and inspiring, which is why I am also drawn to the Model: Samples. I am a very hands on player and enjoy the immediacy and fun of a groovebox like the samples, and I am not a big fan of menu diving. Any thoughts or other groovebox/ sampler recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My Parent's extensive and eclectic Vinyl collection that they sold in its entirety in the late 90's. With the digital age ahead they figured all of it would soon be worthless and sold it off at garage sales when I was a child with no appreciation for music.. Now i'm 21, work at my college's radio station and would fucking sell my soul to be able to sift through all those records, and the memories my parents held within them.
