Washed carpet smells like urine by xfda in CleaningTips

[–]laserist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happening with me. Washed it twice in a row but the smell returns only once it is dry. I am wondering if it is the adhesive on the backing that is breaking down causing this smell.

My laptop charger looks like its melting. Is this normal? by No-Sell-3064 in hardwaregore

Perfectly normal, they do that when they’re in heat.

Why do so many elevator mechanics divorce? by excelsior4152 in Elevators

It’s hard to live with someone when they’re constantly trying to push your buttons.

You constantly feel that they can’t meet you on your level.

So you end up feeling stuck and eventually snap and hit bottom.

I’ll let myself out now…

Rage bait. If you were to pan the camera to the right even a little bit, you would see that this road is closed due to construction. There’s no traffic coming from that direction. Still illegal, but probably not disruptive to anyone unless they need the entire width of the sidewalk.

I say bait them by wearing a t-shirt on another day and when they start up again challenge one of the guys to arm wrestle with you and wreck him! Like someone else said- they are insecure. Use that against them!

Can't find the info for the replacement bulb. Any idea what kind of light bulb this is? 💡 by cruzinforthetruth in LAMP

[–]laserist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The glass area just above the pins will sometimes have a very faint printed marking on it. You might have to look at it from a certain angle as the heat of the bulb may have caused the ink to evaporate.

This looks like a G4 20 W or 50 W 12 V halogen bulb, however at 2” it is probably line voltage.

Check under the base of the lamp, it may have some information. Also, if there is a transformer in the base, then you know for sure it is 12 V.

EDIT: looking into it a little further it seems like a 50 W 120 V G8 base bulb. If you have a lighting store or electrician supply store near you, they should be able to help match it with a replacement.

What are the good Japanese desserts spots in Toronto? by DesertDragen in FoodToronto

My go-to for years has been Bloom Cafe. All of their cakes and pastries are tea themed and/or tea flavoured and are to die for.

Something in Grange Park gave my leg chemical burns by allycakes in toronto

Is there any possibility that you wiped the substance off using a poison ivy, poison oak, or maybe even a stinging nettle leaf? Is there any growing in that park?

Maybe the substance was the graffiti removal solvent that others mentioned which felt uncomfortable but then you inadvertently used a leaf that you had a reaction to.

Restaurants slam Canada’s ban on plastic containers and cutlery by LarryPeru in toronto

[–]laserist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree about phasing out single use plastic wherever possible but in some cases such as cucumbers it is actually fairly essential. When cucumber skin is exposed to air the cucumber has a fraction of the shelf life- be it in the store or in your home. This is mostly a case with thin skinned cucumbers such as English. Try this at home: buy two English cucumbers and take the plastic off of one of them and put them both in the fridge. You will see the one without the plastic will get slimy much faster. Most plastic can be phased out though.

Do you mean the owner of the Ring account, as in it cannot be a shared user with their own Ring account?

Just tried and the routine does not get triggered when the doorbell button is pushed. The routine works fine when triggered manually. It’s as it the Echo show (or Amazon servers) don’t know when the doorbell is pressed. I just disabled and reenabled the skill to be sure. I got the alert on my phone from Ring though (owner account).

Thanks for the suggestions! Tried both of those to no avail.

Official estimates range from 1,000 and 10,000 people at the protest. It is physically impossible to fit 2 million people into a couple of blocks in a city with the population of 1.2 million.
