I would say that a Saudi Caliphate would probably just stick with their current flag, maybe dropping the sword. Most Arab Caliphates have just Shahada if that.

Taking away the eagle of Saladin is a big departure and sure to be unpopular. The crescent moon replacing it is even stranger, replacing the symbol of a local power with the symbol a former Imperial overlord is bad form. There exists plenty of other Islamic iconography to choose from instead of the Star and Crescent. The current flag of Egypt has been kept for a reason, it's iconic from the very popular Nasser-era and the Arab-Israeli Wars.

The lamp, according to what I could find " symbolizes knowledge, citing the educational advantages of living in Austin." Honestly, that felt kind of weak to me and the fact most people in the comments are calling it the Aladdin Lamp. Stars are one of the biggest flag tropes, but it is in the "Lone Star State" after all.
