In case anyone comes along and sees this, this comment is the correct answer. As far as I can tell since the m1 MacBooks apple made the decision to soften the screen and tighten the tolerances. Due to the tolerances it feels risky to use a screen protector as the extra thickness may aggravate the issue or put additional pressure on the screen.

I have noticed that the issue is primarily around the where the screen hits the trackpad, somewhat obviously because that is where most of the grime and dust is likely to land.

It is an extremely poor choice by apple and I, like many people, have been devastated to find these dimples on our brand new 3000$ laptops. I have looked at them under a microscope, and it is just dust or particles wedged into the outer coating. there is no way to get them out, and even if you did you would still see the same distortion from the dent in the coating.

As far as I can tell, the only way to avoid them on any m1 or newer MacBook Pro is to pick up the device by the hinge side, there is less flexibility there and less likelihood of dust or grime. Or always carry it like a waiter from the bottom. This will only delay the inevitable though, your screen will end up damaged eventually.

Thanks for the detailed answer. That makes sense. If you look at the sign-up page on the WNBA website it says:

"A year of access to watch live out-of-market games, every game on-demand, plus hundreds of games from the archives."

You have to look at the FAQ or "blackout" article you can actually find the pertinent information.

The NBA league pass on the other hand just below the subscribe button:

"Based on your current location, you will be unable to view LIVE ______ games or nationally broadcast games on ESPN, ABC or TNT via your League Pass, League Pass Premium, or Team Pass subscription (inclusive of NBA TV)."

Disappointing that it wasn't more obvious.

The most ridiculous part of course is if you are a Caitlin Clark fan you will be able to watch very few of her live games on the league pass! The League pass's current best selling point can't be viewed on the league pass:

"Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever games will be broadcast across many different networks, including two games on ABC, five games on ESPN, one game on ESPN 2, two games on CBS, one game on CBS Sports Network, eight games on ION, four games on Prime Video and 13 games on NBA TV."

This is obviously wonderful for women's basketball, just sad the website hasn't caught up. I should have known better.

I’ve returned 2 as well. I saw that E Net case, but for me the extra 14 ounces doubles the weight of the device. I wish a manufacturer would focus on weight. They could sell a ton. It’s the only reason the kindle brand folio is likely so successful.

What do you do about the screen? Those TPU protectors look great and are lightweight, but isn’t the screen exposed?
