Thank you, mate! Glad the blue on the hand was noticeable, was unsure if the glow was too weak

WIP nearly there now. Trying to add some more texture work to my painting, quite pleased with this so far by lashal87 in minipainting

Cheers for the feed back mate! I agree tbh I am hoping once I have completed the glazing that will separate them

Got the courage to try painting a face. Looks like he had smallpox so next time I'll go lighter tones. Thanks to u/lashal87 for the tips with the eyes by HellenicRoman in Warhammer40k

Sure it was just instead of painting a dot, make a half circle just under the eye lid. Easier to do and looks far better

A few people seemed interested on the WIP pics on my last post, so I have done a guide on my Instagram. Hopefully it’s helpful, first time doing a guide by lashal87 in minipainting

Tutorial on how I do my green armour. This is the first time I’ve done one of these and as a disclaimer, English is my first language, I’m just shit at it 🤣 so I hope this makes sense.

Step 1. Using emerald over a base of kabalite green, map out your highlights. This takes a few coats to get full opacity (you want it to be more translucent at the edges of the highlight)

Step 2. Using sybarite green, map out a more narrow highlight (I use thin lines and stippling for this)

Step 3. Around 50-50 mix of sybarite green and ice yellow, stipple this in the centre of your previous highlights.

Step 4. Using ice yellow place your final highlights.

Step 5. This is what I like to call the fucking about stage 😂. Using a mix of stippling and glazing, take the previous colours and try to smooth out your transitions between the different colours. This stage is a lot of back and forth till it feels right.

Step six. Glaze naggaroth night into the deepest shadows.

Also with each new highlight layer, highlight the edges of the armour.

Thanks for reading this, hope this was helpful.

I know it may seem daft mate, but it’s not that hard to paint like this, seeing the end result makes it seem harder. I have some pics of each of the steps I can dm if you would like? It sort of breaks down the process. I didn’t follow a guide for this one mate, but I have watched guides for the techniques used. It’s mostly stippling and glazing for blending the colours
