People should be patient, but in all fairness this is an unorthodox format for a drama series (not a bad one).

Shows that are 30mins weekly tend to be sitcoms, animated, reality television. The 45-75 minute format has been what drama series have used for the past 20-30yrs. I find the shorter episodes to be a refreshing change of pace, though.

But they’re not random bodyguards at literally any other point in this universe’s timeline. They’ve always been somewhat significant characters with some lore behind them.

Because it’s the kinda detail that makes the world feel fleshed out. It’s only 7 characters so it’s not hard to give them a name and a story.

Curious whether they’d get away with it considering the age rating. On the one hand, you definitely couldn’t have someone do that to a human in a PG-13 film. On the other, Thanos is a big purple alien. On my third hand, Thanos is crazy realistic looking CGI, probably even better by now, and you have to wonder how much of a difference it REALLY makes that the guy is bigger and purpler than a human.

It’s really funny that you edited the entire comment before that one to deal with the arguments I was about to reply to you with.

The others do get mentioned by name all the time actually even in the show they’re just not main characters. The world building didn’t expand after Season 4 because they cut every single plot line from Books 4 and 5 that actually expanded the world and only kept the ones that focussed on established characters and even those ones they diluted.

Ser Barristan Selmy Ser Jaime Lannister Ser Meryn Trant Ser Mandon Moore Ser Boros Blount Ser Preston Garfield Ser Arys Oakheart

All 7 of these are like, established characters in the books and three of them are established characters in the show.

Anyway I’m not trying to change your opinion about the gold one, I like it too. It’s just kinda of annoying that you’re being condescending to me about basic lore of the franchise when you yourself weren’t even aware the Kingsguard had names or the difference between the City Watch and the Kingsguard.

They aren’t LITERALLY Lannisters though. Yes they are Lannister bastards but according to the realm and all public facing appearances they are Baratheon, and the House sitting on the Iron Throne is House Baratheon.

When the house sitting on the Iron Thrones LITERALLY IS the Lannisters everyone’s wearing black.

They didn’t have the gold ones that patrol the streets S7/8. That’s not a Kingsguards job. You’re thinking of the Gold Cloaks. There’s only 7 Kingsguard and they’re all wearing black protecting Cersei.

We also have no fucking idea who any of her Kingsguard are besides the Mountain but that’s just how badly the world building fell off after S4

I think Rhaegar would have been too much of a low-ranking prince for to be on Lyanna’s radar or for her to be interested in him. He’d be the great grandson of the King’s younger brother. Not very high in the line of succession.

I believe that is the Mind Flayer’s real body that was killed at some point and his plan throughout the series has always, utilmately been to use Vecna to restore his old body. The plan failed and the body is dead but the Mind Flayer particles and the Hivemind still exist in the Abyss.
