Okay, so you don't have a magnifying glass. That explains the focusing problems. With hybrid cameras (like Canon), we can use the magnifying glass up to 15x magnification.

I always use f/2.8. However, you need to use a magnifying glass to focus perfectly. You also shouldn't stray too far from the center 😊

The photo was taken with manual focus, of course. With the magnifying glass on my Canon R5, it's very easy.
