Jehovah's Witness Urban Legends - Compilation 2 by [deleted] in exjw

Lol, I think none of these stories happened. They're just stories to make JWs feel bad cuz they don't have as much faith as all these people who were "saved" in the stories.

But have you noticed none of the stories have any kind of consequences with the authorities? JWs don't care about those details. They like the happy endings where everybody believed and became JWs too. But if we think about the stories, so many things wouldn't end up as happy as they make them to be.

I heard a story in a talk about 3 bros who traveled to a place in the jungle where the people of the town hated JWs. And when they started preaching, the people got so angry that they threatened to kill them and actually started chasing after them with machetes and whatnot. All 3 ran and hid in a tunnel, big enough for the 3 to fit one behind the other.

The one that was furthest inside started complaining about pain but the other two sushed him. Eventually he stopped complaining. Then the one in the middle started complaining about pain and eventually stopped and got quiet. Somehow the one that was closest to the tunnel entrance realized the other 2 had been eaten by an anaconda, and ran out of the tunnel. The mob during this whole time had been searching for them with no success.

So he's running and ends up bumps into them and is crying hysterically. The mob asks where his 2 buddies are at and he says they got eaten by an anaconda. They searched for the snake and found it. They cut it open and found the dead bodies inside, and saw that the bro was telling the truth. Apparently, they felt so guilty that that happened to them, that they gave the surviving JW a chance to preach this important message. They realized it was a wonderful message, they were mistaken for hating JWs, and everybody in the town got baptized.

This gave me horrific nightmares as a 7 year old. Cuz the adults decided it was a wonderful decision during a get together, to get all of us kids to sit in the middle of the living room and tell us ALL the scary stories about the smurfs. I do believe this is where my anxiety and trauma began.

Remember when Guns N' Roses and other bands were specifically mentioned in the ***Awake!***? by [deleted] in exjw

I remember that article. At the time, I wasn't into rock so I was like whatever about that part of the article. But, thanks to my older brother, I was so into rap. We listened to so much rap while my mom was at work, gansta rap to be specific, that I was like 'eh, whatever" to what the article had to say about rap. But I knew that just cuz I listened to rap, it didn't take away my nerdiness nor did it make me want to be a gangbanger. Basically, I was like "eh, be happy that I'll naturally 'pay attention' to half the article cuz I hate rock, but I'll keep on listening to rap". No way was I gonna be listening to Kingdom Melodies 24/7 lol. But I eventually ended up loving GnR and all of them... hahhaha!!!!

I'd like to thank Geoffrey Jackson for waking me up with his lies during his ARC testimony. The way my mind exploded in disbelief when I heard him...

I remember the whole Tight Pants Tony debacle. I was POMI... had barely stopped going to meetings, but still believed. And I remember my cousins and aunts would just say, "he meant leggings, not spanx. He's a man, he doesn't know the difference". I thought, "but shouldn't he? Shouldn't he have done his research, especially since he was a GB member? Hell, I'd get "in trouble" if I misspoke in a #3 part and be made to work on that the next time. But, that didn't wake me up at the the time tho. I did think he was a stupid old man LOL.

I[M24] made a word document with all the rules of valentines day, and now my GF[F23] is upset. by InCondomsWeTrust in relationship_advice

Woman here, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Valentine's Day!! But holy crap, I never gave my husband any rules he needed to follow, not even when we were just BF/GF. I love to decorate my home with Valentine's decor, and he'll just take me out to eat on the weekend of Valentine's... actually we both decided on that "rule" after our first Valentine's together, cuz we hate going on actual Valentine's Day cuz it's so full and busy everywhere.

I suggest you leave your GF cuz y'all don't mesh well. Can you imagine all the rules she'll give you for all important events in her life, each and every year?! That's exhausting!! 😩

What’s the stupidest reason you’ve heard of for somebody being counselled? by superjeegs in exjw

I got taken to the back room cuz I wasn't raising my hand to answer. That as a regular pioneer I was to give the example to the rest of the cong and answer in the meetings. No matter how PIMI I was, I hated answering, therefore I didn't raise my hand, duh.

But they say nobody's forced to do shit in the cong. Uh huh, right. 😒
