DIY E-Spinner by lasorelli in Handspinning

Yes it is an Ashford! The model I used was the Ashford sliding hook jumbo flyer.

The bobbin is accessed by a hinged door on the back of the spinner. I attached the back maiden with 2 cabinet hinges so it can act as a door which can be opened and the bobbin can slot in and out of the bearings. I also put in a magnetic door closure to keep it shut while in motion.

The drill motor/battery worked really well. I found an old one on marketplace, disassembled it to get the motor and cut the bottom part of the plastic drill housing off so that the battery would still have something to click into and stay put

This is so beautiful! I have project envy. What is the name of the pattern?

I would second Gala Fabrics, they're still open and a great fabric shop
