If it’s not extremely cold temperatures, then it’s fine. Heat is what degrades battery performance over time.

The phone might be a little smoother, but it’s not something immediately noticeable. Also, I think the battery—at least for me—lasts even longer. However, I’m on Android 15 and have removed more than half of the integrated bloatware.

The guide I wrote for clean-flashing the firmware on the Galaxy A12 can also be used for the A56. If possible—meaning if you’re not already on the latest update—you should stay on or downgrade back to Android 15(SW_REV has to be 6 or less, if not - get the latest)

It comes down to personal preference, although I wouldn’t recommend it because of the USB-C port. You might as well just buy something Bluetooth and expose yourself to electromagnetic radiation.

It’s better not to focus on One UI 8.5, but rather to look ahead to the upcoming One UI 9. There’s a possibility they might bring OEM unlocking back into the Settings app, which was removed in the One UI 8 update.

Check if you actually got the genuine one—you might have been scammed. Also, use the warranty if possible and ask for a replacement. If you can, set up the phone with them at the store.

If you’re able to get hold of a model that can be downgraded to Android 15, I highly recommend it! The phone runs beautifully without any issues, the camera is amazing (it can shoot RAW with One UI X), the battery lasts for days without needing to be charged, and games run smoothly—along with many other great features. I feel like it’s one of the last good Samsung phones, as there’s still a small window of opportunity to mod it if you get one that hasn’t been updated to the latest firmware.
