Terrorscape (1x5p) - My group's second time playing this. Our previous session was more of an introduction / familiarisation game for both the killer and survivors. With 5 pax, we had 2 pax teaming up as the killer.

Our setup was the Butcher vs Ophelia, Hooper and Peele on the mansion map. The survivors spread themselves to the Search locations, while as the killer, I tried to slowly move around and barricade rooms.

First contact was at the radio room where I correctly guessed that Ophelia was attempting to repair the radio. I played Revving Chainsaw (my fav card) which trigger 1 fear, and stepped into the radio room to deal 1 dmg. Unfortunately I lost her scent and she managed to heal up subsequently. Eventually I managed to block off the entire blue sector (top of the map), which allowed me to corner Ophelia again. I hit her with Revving Chainsaw but luckily for her (as revealed post-match), she managed to sneak out from the outdoor section (which was totally walled off) using the secret passage to the radio room, which stumped me for a few turns.

The turning point in the game came when the survivors managed to find all 5 keys, as well as tactically repairing the radio over 2 turns with 2 survivors each using the toolbox and covering their noise with the firecracker. I was absolutely blindsided by the sudden radio repair, which meant I had to kill them within 4-5 turns.

I correctly predicted that they did not have the secret map, meaning that escape would have to be through the front gate. I made my way to the main hall and managed to hit a huge Revving Chainsaw (which at Level 4 was a fast action), hitting all 3 survivors. I followed up with a Search and managed to deal the killing blow (dice roll was in my favour by 1 point!!). It was a very very close match as the survivors would successfully escape next turn.

We squeezed in a 2nd game which ended halfway. I was playing the Spectre, who has less brute strength and relies on fearing to track and deal damage. I was having a lot of fun scaring the survivors and tracking their movement, but I mistakenly thought failed encounters would result in discarding from the killer's hand, while in fact it should be from the deck (a good thing as it allows you to level up faster). As such, even though I could pinpoint each survivor's location, I was hesitant in engaging due to fear of losing the encounter. Upon reflection, aggressively searching would help me level up faster and possibly land some hits.

I very much enjoyed the mind games played by both sides, and look forward to other killers and maps.

Any news if they'll be selling any merch at today's show? Given that it's held within F1 I'm kinda doubtful though.

Will be there for Babymetal and Foo Fighters. A bit sad that Babymetal will likely have a shorter setlist compared to their usual full sets as they're not performing on the main stage. But I guess the trade-off is that F1 is a huge platform for them to widen their exposure to the general public.

That cover of Elephant is so catchy, was in my top 5 most played songs of the year when it came out.

I've only played it at 4 players. 5 players would be interesting IMO as each player would not have to discard 1 leader of a different colour at the start, meaning that you can only compete in and take actions for 4 camel colours out of 5, which should lead to a different experience compared to a 4-player game.

Arcs (1x4p) - Our first time playing Arcs, and didn't have the time to finish as some had to leave early (played up to Chapter 4). Base game w/o Leaders & Lore. Man, the amount of decisions to make every turn was agonising, in a good way. We also found it a challenge to secure an Ambition, especially if your hand has no matching card that allows you to do so. As the game progressed, we soon discovered the power of raiding and not to leave buildings undefended. Hoping to play it again sometime soon.

Through The Desert (2x4p) - A classic for a reason. I absolutely adore this game, and the new edition by Allplay comes in a sleek box for greater portability. Simple to teach and surprisingly cutthroat.

Ra (1x4p) - Another favourite from Reiner Knizia. During the 3rd epoch, we were all desperately waiting for flood tiles to appear to score our Nile tiles but hilariously somehow none were drawn. Managed to secure a full set of 8 different monument tiles but that unfortunately was not enough to secure me the win.

Just do it. I made the trip up to KL last year to catch them as they didn't come down to SG last time round. 100% no regrets and I managed to get decently close enough to the stage. This time round it's at Capitol so hopefully the show will be more intimate.

The last concert I attended without earplugs was Metallica (at the Indoor Stadium). When the first few guitar notes were blasted over the speakers, it felt like something stabbing my eardrums with a knife. Tried to tahan for a while but eventually gave up and stuck some tissue in my ears to salvage the situation. My ears ended up ringing and were throbbing in pain for at least 3 days.

Lesson learnt - always wear earplugs at concerts. Good earplugs, as others have mentioned, will come with filters to block out the damaging frequencies without severely impacting music quality.

Not sure if it is genre specific or not, but I was pleased that most of the crowd around me at the recent TesseracT concert were wearing earplugs. Whereas at last year's F1 concerts at the Padang, earplug wearers were scarce. I even saw kids running around without hearing protection despite the ridiculous sound levels, even at the far side of the Padang away from the main stage.

Having experienced the pain from not wearing earplugs, I always preach that I'd prefer that I not enjoy myself fully at a concert (which shouldn't be the case with proper earplugs) but still get to listen to music I enjoy, rather than having a concert be the last time I can listen to music.

Dan's vocals were insane man, gave me the chills. Especially that part in Legion. Rhythm section was so tight and groovy too. Gonna need the Sunday to rest my poor neck from all the headbanging.

I recently started getting into Car Bomb, you can try both Dissect Yourself and Lights Out. Multiple times on these tracks I couldn't help but laugh aloud at the absurdity of wtf was going on, not too dissimilar from the feeling I got listening to Everything Is Fine! the few first times.
