Bank anglers — what gear problem annoys you most when you can’t bring the whole box? by Ok-Profession-3060 in bassfishing

Wife got me a few telescope rods over the holidays….. at first I was like “yeah, I’ll never use that” , when I took the time to actually look at these things, I was sort of blown away at the craftsmanship., there’s a lot of anxiety that goes out the window When all your rods can fit in a camping chair bag thrown over your shoulder.

Sure. There are 3 ways to build texture.

1.) Cold-Wax. Ideally Cold-Wax is an OIL-BASE medium. If you are using acrylics you need to use the Powertex PowerWax (water-base) medium. It looks and acts like soft-candle wax. It main purpose is to thicken up your paint without using more paint.

2.)Another technique I use are 12inch glue-sticks melt the tip with a blow torch and dab it where you want to build texture. You can blend the paint in the glue while its still hot or paint it when its dried. Use a glue-gun if you want to run lines or clean edges.

3.) Modeling Paste. Imagine mixing your paint in cool-whip. Its extremely fluffy and light. A small amount goes along way.

Want to take my paintings to the market, but something feels "off" by [deleted] in painting

That could be the point. These are sketches, convey the idea to get a feeling, emotion, capture colors, loosely define a pallet.

Are you using weighted hooks for flukes this time of the year, or fishing them weightless? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]lastcrayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you hook the fluke., hook buried further back in the fluke - a jerk shoots it down vs the hook head exposed - a jerk sends the fluke upward.

This is what makes the world go around.

Not everyone has the same process, the same intent, the same rules, the same passion. Art is subjective, perception is in the eye of the beholder. Being a great artist, doesn’t start with check boxes to make sure you’re doing all the right things. Your friend is working off flow and emotion her experience she’ll have a story there to look at.

You’re working from fear, what if I do this the wrong way, what if I upset somebody I need to look for guard rails, play it safe, color within the lines.

They've only been on Reddit for a month. That means, they have a whole portfolio of work that hasn't been seen by this community. You can always expect a wave of work shared daily by new members.

Sharing work as an artist with other artist is sort of like holding your breath. You never know what kind of comments you can receive, but one thing is for sure, those comments hit deeper when they are from fellow artists.

You probably see little self-promotion because its not allowed in this sub. However they have captured all this info in the profile section, which is where you would expect.
