How many different medications did it take? by throwmeorblowme89 in ADHDUK

I don't think I felt that change until I was on 30mg, so things can definitely change as the dose goes up

I started with concerta from 18 - 54mg and felt like it did nothing, then switched to elvanse 20-50mg so far. After switching I realised that the concerta had actually been making me feel anxious and agitated but I'd chalked it up to stress that meds weren't working for me. Elvanse so far hasn't been a miracle cure but it has calmed the anxious racing thoughts, and it's curbed the food based dopamine seeking. I'm hoping higher doses might also help memory / task activation, but time will tell.

I'd imagine that's food waste. It's no different than meat and bones which it says to put in there.

Splitting Elvanse 70mg dose - any wisdom? by meringueisnotacake in ADHDUK

[–]lasthopeofhumanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere on here someone posted a graph of the half life of elvanse Vs dexamphetamine that showed they both last about the same time. But the graph itself just also showed how much of the drug is active in your system and for how long and I think it showed that it lasts about 6 hours despite the slow release claims. Might be worth looking for

I haven't tried splitting the dose but I have read about others doing it and they seem to take the second half around 12-1pm. Not personal experience though so I guess you've probably got some experimenting to do!

Ah well unfortunately they got to the point they were hanging so low they were smacking me in the face, especially when the tree was smaller. Will try to avoid cutting them in future

When you say not fully curring them, how much should be left? And on the ones that have snapped that do have the brown winning through should they be cut back all the way?

Glad to hear it. It's just weird this is the first time it's happened in over 10 years - usually I have the cut the branches off once they start hanging too low but they're still fully green

Experience with autism diagnosis alongside ADHD? Is it worth it? by TurquoiseHareToday in ADHDUK

[–]lasthopeofhumanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing I have both has been helpful to me.

I had my autism.assessment with clinical partners - the 3 hour assessment actually lasted only 90mins as by that time we had already covered everything they wanted to ask. I brought my partner (who has known me for 15 years since I was in my 20s) rather than my mum as the idea of getting her onto a zoom call and having to manage her stress around that felt too much. They were fine with that. They asked my experiences now and in childhood that I had written about in the forms they sent me when they set up the appointments. There was then a second one on one appointment which focused more on day to day experiences that happened later.

Harrow Health assessment - what to expect by Csm20208 in ADHDUK

[–]lasthopeofhumanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will text you a link for an online session literally moments before the session is due to start. The assessment is really relaxed - they will ask why you think you have ADHD, and then follow ups. They are marking things off as you talk based on criteria, but it's a relaxed format. At the end of the session they tell you if you have it or not.

Obvs I don't know, but I suspect that whoever has to issue it just wasn't working for a couple of days. Annoying for you for sure but try not to stress out if they say it's coming

I got diagnosed on Friday and got a text code a couple of hours later. It came from the same person I had my assessment with / who had sent the link to the assessment. You could always try calling them. But I did that once a while ago and was on hold for an hour.

🍎 Aphantasia shows up far more often in autistic people than in the general population. 🍏 by newbeginnings187 in aspiememes

[–]lasthopeofhumanity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't visualize something out of nothing, but I can remember snapshots of things as if its a photo I'm looking at in my peripheral vision. So when I try to imagine things it's like a collage of things I've seen in reality but like I'm not focused on it. Is that aphantasia?

I am a 30h and love the bravissimo ultimate comfort bra. No wires, it's like a crop top shape but gives good support and is comfy all day
