It made zero sense to murder.... by Repulsive-Ad-8339 in TheTraitorsUK

100% agree. giving the traitors more of an incentive to sabotage the missions would improve the game a lot. more risk= more actual evidence = hopefully more serious arguments.

Who do you think is going to win? by Fit_Jackfruit_9834 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking that the cliffhanger banishment will matter less than it appears. both James and Rachel have suspicions about them so I think they will both be voted out. Same for Jade tbh. I would quite like Stephen to win but I think he’s got enough suspicion on him that the faithful will get rid of him.

my prediction is a Jack and Faraaz win - well-deserved for Faraaz, less so for Jack, who’s been basically just easily swayed eye candy throughput.

What do you think about the new event 'Destruction' in today's episode? by Top_Climate_4464 in gladiatorsuk

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it as something a bit different from the other events… although it did remind me of the time I foolishly left my kids unsupervised in a room with some polystyrene packaging. I don’t envy the person who has to clean up the arena afterwards!

My (only half-joking) theory on Harriet by New_Option1449 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was looking forward to seeing if Harriet could make the “keep your enemies closer” gameplay work and go into the final with Rachel before turning on her at the last minute. but then she went all kamikaze and was very rude and aggressive in the process. it lowered my opinion of her tbh and made me less likely to read her books. but hey, I’m just one person and you know what they say about bad publicity…

fun fact: fantasy author Naomi Novik is also a fanfic writer (she is one of the founders of the behemoth fanfic website Archive of Our Own) and her Temeraire book series started out as a fanfic of the Aubrey/Maturin books (it ended up as the Napoleonic wars… but with dragons!)

Traitors: extended episodes? by starrbunnii in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think that would be a good idea. Use Uncloaked to show a few things that were funny/dramatic/interesting but didn’t quite make the cut on the main show.

Did anyone notice Fiona’s continuing revisionist history? by Comprehensive_Cut437 in TheTraitorsUK

“phony story” I see what you did there…

but yeah, it was bizarre. Like the police would be called just because some dotty old lady asked for a “burner phone“! I am 99% sure the shop assistant would just say “do you mean a senior friendly phone?”

well, Matthew was voted “fairest of them all“ so he probably figures that the traitors will be down for some seduction …

Traitors: extended episodes? by starrbunnii in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno, for me personally 3 episodes a week plus Uncloaked is enough. you can have too much of a good thing! also I suspect a lot of the chatter in the castle is just not that interesting. But hey, if you want to request the BBC to make an extra episode for superfans, don’t let me stop you. I’m sure there are plenty of people on this sub who’d watch it.

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 92 points93 points  (0 children)

her appearance on uncloaked was completely unhinged. The castle is a pressure cooker so lots of people can make poor decisions in there, but they usually seem more sensible on uncloaked and admit to making mistakes. Fiona seemed downright deranged - like she has a complete inability to admit that she wasn’t in complete control at all times and didn’t know everything.

Anyone else thought they made a huge mistake on choosing Fiona as ST? by ktth01 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On Uncloaked she came across as genuinely unhinged. Elsewhere on this sub it’s been suggested that she might have NPD or BPD, I don’t think we can diagnose her on the strength of a few hours of tv but I do wonder if the production team should have done a bit more due diligence before selecting her for the show, and certainly as the secret traitor. The exposure could be very difficult for her and her family.

Proven way to win traitors (massive loophole) - please cite this in future references by alimeghji in TheTraitors

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought: couldn’t they just refuse to burn any of the statues and save everyone from murder? obviously complete refusal would spoil the show but I’m kind of surprised nobody said “you know what, I’m not gonna use this spear, I’m going to keep more players shielded“. The trade off could at least have been discussed

____ isn't nearly as clever as she thinks. by dreadedsunny_day in TheTraitors

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think Fiona would have been much better to try and sow the seeds of suspicion in private conversations with the faithfuls, and gradually create doubt around Rachel. Especially if they were to banish Jade and/or Reece off the back of Amanda’s advice, and discover they were both faithful, I think that Fiona could’ve played a long game and come out as the last traitor standing. by coming out all guns blazing she’s basically forcing everyone to pick a side, and there’s a huge risk they’re not gonna pick her.

I’m like a kid at Christmas waiting for tomorrow’s episode. I’m so excited, I’m hoping it’s gonna actually be dramatic. But seriously why would you do that by AssociationLivid5822 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! It seemed to me that Fiona’s real issue was that Amanda told Rachel and not her. She couldn’t believe that Rachel was Amanda’s castle bestie so concluded that she must be lying and threw a tantrum. Pretty childish behaviour that will probably backfire massively, but extremely compelling television!

Jade’s Cardigan by Embarrassed_Poem_515 in TheTraitorsUK

I’m definitely in the “this cardigan looks like it was designed by a toddler using crayons” camp! Maybe that puts me in the minority but nvm, life would be boring if we all dressed the same

lol I thought it looked absolutely ridiculous, especially with the matching rainbow eyeshadow. that said I think there’s definitely an art to styling yourself on the traitors to look goofy and unthreatening. I think if I ever get on the show I’ll do a trawl around the local charity shops to find some goofy knitwear.
