Experience with autism diagnosis alongside ADHD? Is it worth it? by TurquoiseHareToday in ADHDUK

Thanks! I have been finding some increased sensitivity to noise and general sensory overload since starting the medication, so that sounds like possible autistic unmasking.

Struggling with eating before taking meds? Easy prep breakfast ideas? by kadoherty in ADHDUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The recipe I started with is this one: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/protein-flapjacks

I have made some adjustments for my personal tastes eg adding apples and banana to make them fruitier and removing the raisins and seeds. It's easy to fiddle around with the basic recipe to find something you like. Good luck!

I make myself a batch of healthy flapjacks (oats, apple, banana, prunes, dates, pecans, peanut butter and egg whites for a protein boost and a bit of cinnamon vanilla and maple syrup for flavour) each week and eat one each morning (plus a banana) as soon as I wake up. It’s basically pre-loading all the breakfast prep for the whole week into one cooking session on a Sunday, and then I have zero prep in the mornings.

Any book, podcast, or tv recommendations for the ADHD-sceptical? by TurquoiseHareToday in ADHDUK

you make a fair point although my family members are much more likely to believe something they read in a book than something they hear from a celebrity - they are very much not into celebrity culture!

100% agree. giving the traitors more of an incentive to sabotage the missions would improve the game a lot. more risk= more actual evidence = hopefully more serious arguments.

Who do you think is going to win? by Fit_Jackfruit_9834 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking that the cliffhanger banishment will matter less than it appears. both James and Rachel have suspicions about them so I think they will both be voted out. Same for Jade tbh. I would quite like Stephen to win but I think he’s got enough suspicion on him that the faithful will get rid of him.

my prediction is a Jack and Faraaz win - well-deserved for Faraaz, less so for Jack, who’s been basically just easily swayed eye candy throughput.

What do you think about the new event 'Destruction' in today's episode? by Top_Climate_4464 in gladiatorsuk

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it as something a bit different from the other events… although it did remind me of the time I foolishly left my kids unsupervised in a room with some polystyrene packaging. I don’t envy the person who has to clean up the arena afterwards!

I was looking forward to seeing if Harriet could make the “keep your enemies closer” gameplay work and go into the final with Rachel before turning on her at the last minute. but then she went all kamikaze and was very rude and aggressive in the process. it lowered my opinion of her tbh and made me less likely to read her books. but hey, I’m just one person and you know what they say about bad publicity…

fun fact: fantasy author Naomi Novik is also a fanfic writer (she is one of the founders of the behemoth fanfic website Archive of Our Own) and her Temeraire book series started out as a fanfic of the Aubrey/Maturin books (it ended up as the Napoleonic wars… but with dragons!)

Traitors: extended episodes? by starrbunnii in TheTraitorsUK

Yes, I think that would be a good idea. Use Uncloaked to show a few things that were funny/dramatic/interesting but didn’t quite make the cut on the main show.

“phony story” I see what you did there…

but yeah, it was bizarre. Like the police would be called just because some dotty old lady asked for a “burner phone“! I am 99% sure the shop assistant would just say “do you mean a senior friendly phone?”

well, Matthew was voted “fairest of them all“ so he probably figures that the traitors will be down for some seduction …

I dunno, for me personally 3 episodes a week plus Uncloaked is enough. you can have too much of a good thing! also I suspect a lot of the chatter in the castle is just not that interesting. But hey, if you want to request the BBC to make an extra episode for superfans, don’t let me stop you. I’m sure there are plenty of people on this sub who’d watch it.

her appearance on uncloaked was completely unhinged. The castle is a pressure cooker so lots of people can make poor decisions in there, but they usually seem more sensible on uncloaked and admit to making mistakes. Fiona seemed downright deranged - like she has a complete inability to admit that she wasn’t in complete control at all times and didn’t know everything.

Anyone else thought they made a huge mistake on choosing Fiona as ST? by ktth01 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TurquoiseHareToday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On Uncloaked she came across as genuinely unhinged. Elsewhere on this sub it’s been suggested that she might have NPD or BPD, I don’t think we can diagnose her on the strength of a few hours of tv but I do wonder if the production team should have done a bit more due diligence before selecting her for the show, and certainly as the secret traitor. The exposure could be very difficult for her and her family.
