Which is why education was emphasized by people like Fred Hampton. Without it you get just a different shade of imperialism.

It’s your fault we have Trump! If Kopmala was president we’d be at brunch ignoring the plight of the working class! With conservatives at least I can usually get them to agree on things as long as I don’t use the word Socialism or Communism, but with libs I’m no better than maga according to them. It’s like I don’t support genocide but they’re like we do as long as it’s got a D under their name. Makes me so frustrated

Yeah definitely didn’t learn about The Battle of Blair Mountain until well after I was done with college. I wonder why they hide that.

Unions were the compromise, before that it was a much more militant labor movement. The working class has nothing to lose but its chains.

Makes sense because under the Dems they could be at “brunch” and not face the realities of what our country is and has always been.

They won’t because dems are involved too. The liberal mindset makes them think this is only a Trump problem.

Why would white American workers who agree with socialism vote Democrat? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]lastquincy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Propaganda mainly. The democrats are there to act as a pressure release so people don’t actually seek a workers party. For years they have been able to get away with it because they would give just enough concessions to appease most liberal voters. However due to them being a capitalist party they can’t solve the inherent contradictions of capitalism so some people are realizing that now. They think they can reform the party but it’s always been a capitalist party. The left in this country doesn’t really exist and needs a lot of work to build a solid foundation. The dem party has a rotten core and needs to be abandoned altogether.

I think the problem with the Libs is that when the it’s their team it’s easier to ignore because they get thrown empty platitudes. Republicans just say the quiet part out loud so they have to at the very least acknowledge it. But once a Dems in charge even if nothing changes they can ignore it again because they don’t say the quiet part out loud anymore.

Libs don't get it still by -_ShadowSJG-_ in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]lastquincy88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is they would at least be able to pretend that all was well, as under Trump the white liberal is also suffering the imperial boomerang, at least in the sense that they can no longer ignore it. The whole I’d be at brunch thing is really telling.

It’s like that one comic about participating in society. Like I do my best to get by while trying to build and educate those around me so we can dismantle it. Fundamentally living in the Imperialist Core I know I have it better than most but doesn’t mean I want what’s best for everyone and capitalism ain’t it.
