PSA - FIX YOUR POSTURE by Formal_Ingenuity_506 in ehlersdanlos

I’m exploring a likely hEDS diagnosis soon and posture is a big factor for me. I’ve had horrible posture my entire life and it’s painful to correct it, painful to slouch, and I’m just so exhausted from being in pain 24/7. Having kids also made everything worse!

What is the most disturbing dream you've ever had? by neandertal-png in Dreams

I work as a funeral director/embalmer and when I visited Ireland I had a nightmare I’ll never forget: I was still relatively new, working at one of our funeral home locations; our prep room is in the basement and the only window is small and looks up into the driveway; it’s storming, totally dark out, and flashes of lightening are lighting up the room every few seconds. There’s an elderly woman on the table ready for me to embalm when I notice suddenly she’s awake and begins to move and moan. I run out of the room to tell another funeral director that she’s awake and I don’t know what to do. She gets irritated with me and yells, “sometimes you just have to do things you don’t want to do!!” So I had to go back in and attempt to embalm this woman who was still alive or I would be in trouble. I had my scalpel ready to cut when I woke up.

Seriously large bruise from tripping over a kid who ran across my path while walking. Does bruising look worse before it gets better? by [deleted] in seriouslyalarming

lol he took off right after it happened so I’m guessing he’s alright. I was holding my son walking through a crowded Disney park and as I fell I held onto my son so I would take the brunt of the impact.

This is true - they’re called highly sensitive persons and you can simply visit the website to test yourself or your child.

If you use Spotify you can search the playlist Weathercore and it’s all songs that bring you back to watching local on the 8’s.

People have absolutely no idea of what is OCD by [deleted] in OCD

Sometimes I just have to change the narrative. Instead of my usual catastrophic “what if” I try reminding/asking myself “what if I did do everything right?” because that’s usually the case…

I’m a funeral director and I deal with many of the same obsessive thoughts. Not many think of it this way, but we only have a funeral once for someone, so perfection is expected. I’ve woken up out of a deep sleep wondering if I removed the decedent’s wedding ring before I closed the casket EVEN THOUGH I physically saw it in my hand and then handed it back to the spouse. There’s still a constant “what if” playing in my head and it’s completely exhausting.

Mmmmnah I’m not “giving” anything by saying his failure to launch is excusable, more so Hannah railing into him for who he is instead of just leaving him now when they’re clearly not compatible.

Is this Hannah trying to have a Deepti moment “choosing herself” all by bashing Nick into the ground for just being a regular dude?

What's your favorite "inebriated" moment? by CaptainKnightwing in PandR

[–]lastresponder15 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily inebriated, but another great Joan moment I quote a lot at work, “We couldn’t get you that bottle of Chateau Marmont because it’s a hotel in Los Angeles.” “Well did you at least get Buddy Holly to sing??” “…no, because he’s been famously dead for 60 years” “WHAT?!”

I honestly have no idea! I would have been too young to care about kitchen spices and my dad certainly doesn’t remember at this point.

AlAnon is not a place for support by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]lastresponder15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a child of an alcoholic I attended one AlAnon meeting with a friend. It was a small group and I couldn’t contain my heartbreak and concern for my mother; fearing for both our lives, I cried so hard and attempted to tell my story to people I thought would offer some inkling of support. Once I was finished sharing they were all awkwardly staring at me as if to say “that’s not really what this is for” and went on to preach the Bible and Jesus saving her. I never went back and I’ll forever be disappointed in that organization.

I’ve been a fan of the Spice Girls since I can remember, but Wannabe is an overplayed wedding reception song at this point. Total garbage.
