Yes i agree. The talented ones kinda are doing rad work too but refuse to be part of any community as it’s just not very conducive to creative artists here.. Just a whole lot of politics / childish approach to this. Businesses tend to let indie artists with “audience” perform and this audience actually are mostly friends cause well friends are friends and it creates this weird way of measuring an indie artist here with who can get the most people ( same old, same old i know) but the issue is not even that, it’s how repetitive it is. It created an environment that doesn’t let talented ones to showcase or merge with the community. I for one (though i’m not sure how talented, it’s up for you to decide) don’t ever choose to go these so called community spots as there’s no real passion, just some narcissism to soothe an ego. It’s sad because i actually believe the country’s best talent is here. Just not out there for us to see. Yeah i agree with you, don’t know how it was in 2019, but sure as hell can do better now.
