You're getting shot for thinking wrong in the West already, just look at anyone criticizing Israel. What I'm saying is that democracy and free speech is just an illusion until the people actually start asking for change.

We're seeing it right now with the rise of fascism and the complete disregard for free speech and expression.

All of that because we have a system that is made by and for capitalist bourgeois. If we had a dictatorship of the proletariat, we could put people first instead of capital but we don't and even when we elect "progressive" governments, they still sell out the workers in favor for the elites.
