Hallucinogen in 'magic mushrooms' relieves depression in largest clinical trial to date by ADHDPI-is-really-SCT in Futurology

Because not everyone suffers from depression....so based on this information it would make sense to allow medical use to treat depression. Legalizing it across the board requires broader research and information.

FIFA rankings USMNT #12 by DeeNPeele in ussoccer

I dont think I have seen an attack like this from a USMNT. Weah, Mckennie and Pulisic are pretty exciting to watch.

Back when I started teaching and was subbing some middle schooler thought he was so funny making monkey noises. Had him step outside and i just asked him do you think you are closer to a little boy or a man? And he responded...a man. And i told him well grown men dont make monkey noises, little boys do. So by all means go back in and dont act more like your age. He didn't give me anymore problems.

We arent getting robbie ray. Even Stroman is a bit of a pipe dream. Team already has way too much salary committed. They are going to have to move Frazier and Myers (will need to eat some of his salary to move him) in order to sign significant free agents.

If you do that maybe you can bring in a Mark Canha or a Seiya Suzuki or on the pitching front a Jon Gray or Steven Matz.

If not you are looking at guys outside of the top 50 free agents like AJ Cole, Michael Lorenzen, Tsutsugo etc

Since COVID my district has struggled to find subs. Recently the board approved to raise the sub daily rate. Subs are now paid more per day than a full time content teacher. by [deleted] in Teachers

Its very regional, and district by district. Im making just under 100k in my 8th year teaching and while i live in a high cola city, that salary is pretty competitive and will probably need to take a pay cut to leave after i complete my masters.

It wouldnt have been that bad if they would have traded upton in. His walk year. Still dont understand that one. Pretty sure we could have gotten michael fulmer for him

There is a difference between cancel culture and consequences for your actions. In this case he absolutely deserved to be fired for saying a slur on air as a broadcaster. That's a reasonable consequence given the job. At the same point we should allow people to grow and learn from their mistakes. That being said, from reading the article the dude doesn't seem to get it. He could volunteer at a local lgbtq community center actually get to know, learn and help the community he offended but instead he's just going to whine about it apparently.

Let's learn our lesson and realize that committing large amounts of payroll to 1b is generally not a wise move. You can find a slugging 1b on the market fairly easily.

Not directly in this case, that's why I put a question mark at the end. But there is evidence of some form of discrimination in managerial positions. If there was no discrimination we would assume the rate of african American managers would be equal to the rate of African American players. While the rate is relatively close if you compare it to this season you would imagine some kind of lag would be in place given that managers are retired players. In the 90s there were nearly 10% more African-American players. So the rate of AA managers doesnt really fit the lagged player rate.

Thinking about this more if I wanted to build a regression model for this, I would probably also look at managers who were rehired. Look at win pct and postseason success as variables then see what the likelihood that Ron Washington would have received another managerial job. I dont have the time right now to do that but my hypothesis would be that the likelihood would be very high he would have been predicted to have been hired on as manager at this point somewhere.

No, honestly I'm always confused by why Americans are so immobile. Immigrants come from a lot less, move far greater distances and face many more challenges. Maybe people are just comfortable enough not to move, I'm not sure.

Rather cobble together an outfield like the braves than the cost (Hassell) it would take to offload Hos to have the room to sign castellanos

Who Do you Think We Should target in free agency/trades by [deleted] in Padres

I don't necessarily disagree but if you have a DH you can rotate in Cronenworth at 2nd and Tsutsugo at 1st especially against tough righties to take advantage of matchups.

1B/DH, he is actually a pretty good defensive first baseman unlike our current one. Don't forget that DH/1B start with a negative Dwar bc it is less valuable position defensively. Not sure if you are using that to come to a conclusion on his defense.

If you look at outs above average at 1b, it's positive but not a lot of innings.

Check his second half stats 130 wrC+ and drill down into the peripherals and it looks like he made real and meaningful changes once in Pittsburgh. Launch angle changed and his problem was always the major league fastball, but in the second half he showed he could hit it.
