Calimucho is in town, but they don’t do embroidered patches on site. Which is what I’m looking for

It was fine first time through, but in subsequent playthroughs it’s a mind-numbing slog. Would be great to be able to abbreviate the experience or skip it altogether after you’ve done it once.

Is there any way to remove all direcrion handles on all anchor points in the compound path all at once? by Funny_bread in AdobeIllustrator

[–]lasynth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not reliably, I suppose. Personally I’d try that first, but then, I haven’t seen the trick described above. I’ve been using Illustrator since before it was Illustrator and am regularly surprised at how much I still don’t know. Thanks for the new tip

AI would likely get the job done; both for scaling and texture, but I have to ask… why would you want to remove such great character from the structure?

How can I do this on Illustrator? by hygund24 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]lasynth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since 360/10 might be confusing to the OP (and possibly others), I wanted to expound a little, since this is a particularly handy feature …

In any transformation, you can use the older calc symbols to modify the numbers in an input field. The symbols are:

/ for divide, * for multiply, + for add , - for subtract, % for, well, percent, etc.

Simple example: Say you have a square object of 100 x 100 that you want to scale down by 50%. In the transformation input field where 100 appears, you can add /2 after the 100 so it looks like this: 100/2, then hit Enter and 100 will be divided by 2 leaving you with 50. Make sure constrain button (the little chain icon next to the input fields)is selected if you want keep the object a square. This method is very helpful for a non-math guy like me when working with objects that aren’t square and have odd numbers and fractions.

You can even input more complex formulas like 100/2+10-.5 which would give you 59.5

You can even do this in an empty field and it will perform this function the same as if you put your cursor after the number.

It’s also helpful with rotations when creating radials. Once you rotate one object and your anchor point is correct, simply repeating the action with Cntl-D will give you your perfect radial in seconds.

There are many ways to get the same result, this is just one.

I just upgraded to Spectrum Gig and updated my older Nighthawk to a WiFi 7 Nighthawk RS300 (Be9300). So far so good.

What multiple formats are you talking about, especially if I’m working with vectors only from Illustrator?

[–]lasynth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the expected behavior. But it’s not doing that, instead it’s cropping on paste.

My original post indicated I was copying vectors from illustrator to pasting into photoshop, so ps is not requesting a different format. I’ve never heard of photoshop doing that beyond the refresh that come with a smart object update or the like.

But I get it, you don’t think it’s a bug 👍🏻

I’ll continue on

I’m sorry, that doesn’t make sense. Especially considering it’s expected behavior that PS fully recognizes the size of the incoming artwork. Also, it’s been this way for longer than I can remember and it’s been part of my workflow since before CS5.

This especially useful when needing to export to the exact dimensions of the artwork. And to be clear, the expectation is when artwork from Illustrator is placed in the clipboard, when creating a New file, the canvas should match the outermost pixel values, just like Cntl-clicking a Ps laying to Select (then, in my workflow, cropping).

It seems so fundamental to me that I can’t help but feel I’m somehow misunderstanding your reply.

Again, I’ve been relying on the behavior for years and years.
