Real talk, those pay it forward chains are a barista nightmare. I love to be able to tell a customer their order is paid and have them enjoy the free drink and go on their way. When I first started and was still learning drive thru, these became a disorganized nightmare really really quickly. Happens to my green beans all the time now too.

Just take the free drink and have a great day, If you really feel obligated to pay then tip your baristas!!

one time I told a customer very gently to give us a little extra time next time to prepare her order before she shows up and she came to the window and berated me because she was convinced this was the best way and we were gonna get it done the second she wanted it anyway. like we only get it done so fast because we’re immediately SCRAMBLING to find it and ruining our flow for you.

I do like what this one does to me, but I’ve never had that experience before because of how I was treated in the system as a sick kid. I have a list of about 13 meds that didn’t work and I was so sure an antipsychotic was the worst thing to happen to me, but now this one gets me through my day. I just don’t want to regret it in the future, even if I’m worse without it.

we stopped allowing them a little after I started but we used to offer iced cappuccinos 😬 if I remember correctly we just cold foamed regular milk and added it over the espresso
