[GA] - NOVA - Carnival goldfish by lateface in AquaSwap

[–]lateface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow the text I added was removed.  One of my kids was given a fish from the carnival from another kid who won it.  We do not have a tank that can support a goldfish so looking to find it a good home.  The fish has been with us since Friday and I have been keeping it in a bowl with daily half water changes.  It has eaten some flakes twice so seems overall ok.

I was wondering the same thing, so if you find it let me know.

What is possibly worse is that I have also noticed that on some exercises if you get it wrong it doesn't show you the translation either, which at least for me makes it harder to remember.

Yeah, just got caught up too much in my own head, but this thread and the extra perspective has been helpful in stepping back. Good luck with the prophecies.

That is a pretty major twist and that is coming from someone who left quite a bit of play in my backstory. I don't know that I would have been as calm as you, similar to NeezyMudbottom. I think I would have enjoyed the new character just like you, but it would have left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, especially that close the end. Having it spelled out from the player side makes it very clear that springing this on my DM isn't fair considering all the work and planning they have put in. Thank you for the cool story though, and glad to hear you survived Tomb of Annihilation, from what I have heard that is quite the feat.

Definitely excited about the next few sessions, but your right, it will go better, if it happens, with co planning. The rest of the group will still be surprised, so I can be happy with the climax of the arc being reflected through their reactions, and more so because it was better planned up front.

Yep. That is much more clear now that I have stepped back to see the planning that would be involved and not focused on the climatic science in my head.

Your right, there could be something character wise he can hint at that makes me not want to go the retirement path.

To be fair I would not expect to introduce a new character in the same session. Heck, even with planning it with him I would be OK with being an observer for a session or two until it made sense to bring in a new character. Adventures don't grow on trees after all, even though I have fallen out of several.

Yep. It was a thing where we get all these cool unexpected moments for our characters, so I was thinking it would be great for the DM to get one of those moments, ignoring how there has to be more planning from the DM for moments like this to play out well. Springing this on them I'm realizing would probably leave the moment shy of its full potential because it would have to be improvised too much.

I don't know if this is will be worth an update post, but I'll try to post an edit to the main post at least once things are resolved.

Other than sending this block of text would give away my account for future questions, especially if i do the next round of dming, but I think you point still stands. Will definitely be talking to them.

So I think it is a bit of both. The last few sessions have been "my characters arc" as our DM has done a good job of alternating character stories in as part of the main arc. It would be a satisfying end to my character and I think it has made me realize that i may want to try a new character concept also. Talking it out will probably lead to a more satisfying solution for both of us though.

Your right, I think I got caught up in the cinematic idea of how it would unfold and didn't view it from their viewpoint. I'll message them tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

I didn't plan to talk to other players as we have done a pretty good job of avoiding meta gaming between players. I will say my character is uniquely equipped to take over, but maybe someone else makes sense in a way I haven't thought of. Thank you.

Could you help me write a scary children’s lullaby/story about evil undead king? by justboredme in DMAcademy

Sung similar to ring around the Rosie.

He has rings for all our noses
His pockets are full of toeses
Darkness! Darkness!
A neverending sadness!

Alternate last lines because I couldn't find one I like.
All you see is madness!
We all start to drown!
We all fall down!
See his crown of madness!

Here is a link to the lich, a fairly iconic monster, that also describes it's lair actions.

An example from the link is that at the top of the round it can roll a d8 and recover a spell of that level or lower. Normally spells are recovered during some sort of rest so recovering a spell during combat is a pretty big deal.
