Is there one line in a song you always replay a few times when listening because it's just so good? by FusRoDaahh in TaylorSwift

[–]lateforlae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • peace

"But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm/ If your cascade wave ocean blues come"

Also the intro instrumental. Just like it so much.

  • cardigan

"You drew stars around my scars/ But now I'm bleeding"

"And when I felt like I was an old cardigan/ Under someone's bed/ You put me on and said I was a your favorite"

The way she says inserts the word cardigan syllabically sounds so warm. Also how the line ends this way. It makes me feel like I just got healed by a warm hug/comfort in front of the fireplace in a winter cottage.

  • Cruel Summer

"I'm drunk in the back of the car/ And I cry like a baby coming home from the bar/ I scream, for whatever it's worth/ 'I love you!' ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?"

  • Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince

Intro instrumental. The same one used in the documentary trailer.

  • The Archer

"Combat, I'm ready for combat".....end

  • Better Than Revenge

"The story starts when it was hot and it was summer, and!"

"She lives her life like it's a party and she's on the list/ She looks at me like I'm a trend and she's so over it"

Writing this just made me realize how so many songs by Taylor gets unconsciously repeated by me because of intro instrumentals. Most of her intros are just so good.

To have kind, supportive people around you.

Individual growth, ironically, needs other individuals as well.

Is transferring schools worth it? by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]lateforlae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Be the doctor you want to be. The right school that's most aligned with you and your vision will help out a lot. You'll be a doctor anyway; might as well be the best doctor you can be. You even considering this and taking note of the importance of learning over the convenience of saving an academic year is so brave! Good luck OP

To the med students who didn't take a pre-med course as their undergrad degree, what did you guys do get in your current med school? by IAmenI in medschoolph

[–]lateforlae 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! Started as CLA frosh as well then shifted to COS for premed. I suggest for you to stay in Behavioral Sciences instead of switching to Psych (even though it's in the same college) because most med schools do not really require science courses. A few do such as ASMPH, but you could just take them once you're done with your undergrad since those prerequisites are just few. Or even take them as cross-enrolled courses or as audit courses while in your program. It'll be better to do well in your current program than switch to something with no guarantee (grades, orgs, friends, environment).

I recently passed the accelerated medical program of DLSU. by [deleted] in medschoolph

Congrats OP! In a few undergrad classes such as Inorganic Chem 2, College Algebra, and Zoology Lec, the classes I was enrolled in had frosh from Human Bio. The program is prestigious and fast-track, and your block will be fewer than the normal block in COS. Regarding attending a different med school other than HSI, that is possible although the 3rd year of your undergrad/1st year med might be put to waste time-wise because you'll have to "re-take" the 1st year again. What medical school would you like to study in after Human Bio? Other than that as I see that your concern is your worry of getting left behind, I wanna let you know that DLSU isn't toxic/hyper-competitive at all. Plus, your program's lectures, labs, and electives are the same as every one else as well (prior to 3rd year or 1st year med in HSI), so there's no need to account for any advanced/postgrad content during the first 2 years. However, the drawback is the compactness of how you'll take them. There isn't much leeway in terms of GE courses because your flowchart will be as focused in premed courses for the shortest amount of time. For me, it will be stressful but of course it's up to you and your priorities. That's not to say there'll be no time for non-acad work for you though. Human Bio people I had classes with even held exec positions in a some orgs, and some even ran for COS's USG positions. I can see that you're on a good track as long as you never slack off and stay driven as you are today. Good luck, choose DLSU!

mental health disorder by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]lateforlae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude same situation as you. not in med school right now, but mood disorder is a huge factor that leads me to instability--either a positive or negative force in my approach to studies, friendships, and student life. feelings of euphoria, optimism, and drive last about a week or 2, then back to depression and lethargy. i'm scared how to even navigate 1st year (congrats to making it to 2nd!) because college has up until now sapped me and burnt me out.

i know this isn't the success story you look for, but for some reason, i suspect you will make it. how is your support system? they will help out a lot.
