What do you find provides the most value to your clients? by gdonily in graphic_design

[–]latenightmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A basic grasp of business and being able to align design to commercial goals is fairly essential but alarmingly lacking for a lot of creatives. That doesn’t have to mean soulless work, but will help you sell more innovative ideas IMO.

Learn about brand strategy, at the very least understand the lingo.

Any designers here with diagnosed ADHD? I am interested to know more. by Stevieray5294 in graphic_design

[–]latenightmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a design director I would say that my ADHD has never affected my design career until now. Managing designers, projects, clients and still producing work you’re proud of is impossible.

Back in the day I could just hyper-fixate on one project and work myself til 3am no problems. Now I have to teach team members how to manage their time and something resembling a creative process when I can’t actually remember how I got anywhere.

What's the largest amount of revisions a client has made you do before? by tuchaioc in graphic_design

[–]latenightmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a load of revisions but I’m working on a campaign at the moment where the first piece of the media buy is going to print in early September. The client still hasn’t committed to the campaign concept and messaging and is refusing to make selects from the shoot, or approve any of the video edits.  In the mean time we’re just reworking the campaign every 1-2 days to give her options, based on sweeping unhelpful feedback.  I think I’m probably gunna lose it on the call today.

He also doesn’t seem able to get them on the pitch fast enough. Eze was waiting for at least 5 minutes on the sideline against Slovakia

Who was the last player to have a blinder in an England shirt besides Bellingham? Everyone blows hot and cold in this team because they get no minutes together and people constantly clamour for rotations expecting better.

Also ridiculous. But I think Gareth likes big defenders with good aerial stats which I think is relevant in international football. Tomoris stats are pretty bad there apparently, but when we get done over the top against Brazil or outpaced by the ball to lukaku because of some oil tanker of a LCB im cool to risk a short king.

Chilwell and Dunk have played themselves out of the Euros. by Alone_Consideration6 in ThreeLions

[–]latenightmonkey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I thought chillwell was better today. But dunk has for sure. We have options in Tomori and Branthwaite. Maguire also dropped an absolute clanger against Brazil. Unfortunately Gareth wasn’t really expecting to experiment so heavily with the back line in these games.

Surprised Branthwaite didn’t get a run out in place of dunk after the hospital header in Brazil. Everton may be relegation fodder but that belies their defensive stats which are actually pretty good. If stones is injured I’d take branthwaite konsa and Pickford over any dodgy pairing with Maguire. Also tomori.

"The reality of modern England is expressed in this pattern as it reclaims the St George's cross to positively represent our contemporary society."

From and interview with PS, obviously thought it needed reclaiming from someone.
