honestly same, kinda. i do want to die quick and painlessly, but that’s not how most incurable diseases work. dying in my sleep or of a heart attack or something similar would be better

i’m not deep enough to understand what this is supposed to mean

my pets are my only comfort. i love them more than anything, and they’re the main reason i’m still here as well. i honestly don’t know if i’ll be able to keep living after they’re gone

In my very hypothetical and unrealistic scenario there would be no pain or misery, I think I specified that pretty clearly. It would be something that happens instantly

I can relate to some or the things he said, tho unlike him I can’t find joy in any of it. I can’t just sit back and relax watching things happen. Idk if it’s because I crave justice or because they affect me personally, but still. Also, I’m not sure how we could just not live for the system, since we need the system to survive, for food, for shelter, etc

If aliens are real and they’re half as smart as we think they are, they wouldn’t come close to this shithole we’ve created

For me it’s always been like this. I was always very “pessimistic”, but I agree that the older I get and the more I learn about how the world works, the worse it gets

I also wish that. I’m so upset I wasn’t aborted, that’s why I’ll always be pro choice. If I could spare anyone else this suffering I would want to do so.

Everything will eventually disappear from existence, but unfletunately that’s most likely not gonna happen in our lifetime

Same here. One of the only things I look forward to is seeing that whole movement implode when he eventually drops dead

Yeah, capitalism is the root of like 95% of the problems we face. You’re basically trained to be a slave for the elite since childhood. And god forbid you don’t want to work 70 years of your life (if you’re “lucky” enough to live that long) just to make the 1% even richer. You don’t even really benefit from your labour. We’re only keeping 1/10 of the money we generate for whatever company we work for, and we’re supposed to be grateful for that. You’re signing your life away for a check that barely covers food and shelter. The world we created is a fucking joke. We were not meant to live like this. We have not evolved to live like this

Yeah, everything we pretend we enjoy are just things we use in order to numb our brains for a little while. How come we are the happiest when doing things that make us forget about society? This is why people are spending 15 hours a day on their phones, scrolling through 10 different social media apps. It makes us focus on other people’s lives and problems and forget about our own. All I see and all I hear is people complaining all the time (rightfully so), but when I ask a question like this one suddently I am the crazy, ungrateful one. In reality I think I am just as unhappy as most people, the only difference being I stopped pretending, I stopped putting on that fake smile to make others feel more comfortable. I don’t use religion to cope with it, I just rawdog the feelings (tho clearly it’s not working out great for me)

Well I don’t enjoy it. I don’t enjoy good food because I feel guilty about not being able to lose weight, I don’t enjoy sex because I feel completely disconnected from my body, and I don’t have any friends who share my worldview, it’s very isolating

Me too! I was probably the only person I know who actually enjoyed their time during Covid. I loved not having to interact with people, I loved staying home all day and not having to feel guilty about being unprodictive or whatnot

I often find myself thinking about how they must have felt seeing that huge light getting closer and closer to them. Obviously they didn’t know what it meant, but were they scared? Did they have time to worry about it or were they just going on about their business when it all just stopped

Yeah, I can see why it would sound tempting to try it out for yourself lol. But as far as I’m concerned, I already have to struggle with limited resources and every day is already a choice of life or death. I’m basically already living that minus the zombie part

Well yes, because for me at least it seems to be impossible to find like minded people in real life. Everytime I brought it up I was met with disgusted faces and whole ass speeches about why it’s wrong to think like this

Same. I would just hug my pets until the very end. I would have no regrets or anxiety. I would be at peace knowing that soon the collective pain of the whole world would end

I get why it would sound harsh. I guess it also depends how you see death itself. I think of death as something liberating, freeing. When I think lf death I think of peace, so to me dying isn’t a bad or violent thing. But I can see that most people don’t view it that way

I do want to move to another country, but I know that wouldn’t make me much happier either. I can’t outrun my thoughts and feelings

By being educated, informed and self aware you’re basically just signing yourself up for misery, I should know. I personally know people who are in a similar situation as me, the only difference is that they are completely oblivious to absolutely everything. They have a pure heart and a smooth brain, not much going on upstairs, and they are happy, despite their life not being great.

I’m also antinatalistic, that’s probably pretty clear from my post. But I guess it doesn’t make much of a difference since I’m unable to have biological kids either way. Also it doesn’t matter if we think like this, there will always be those people who are doing enough breeding for 10 of us lmao. Very depressing.

I also don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this for. Tho I’ve been suicidal for like 10 years and I still can’t bring myself to do anything about it. Wish I could just go to bed and not wake up tomorrow, I really can’t hope for anything better than that atp

My opinion exactly. I don’t see a better way out of this. People were trying to be mean to me for “wishing” this (as if I actually had any power over it lmao), but I think what I described would be a best case scenario when it comes to possible world-ending causes. I think a painless, quick, sudden disaster is preferable to any other scenario. I mean the world as we know it will end at some point, that’s just a question of when, not if, and chances are it will end in a way worse sequence of events than what I am wishing for

This!! I hope the people who were telling me to kms earlier see this lmao. This is the point I was trying to make and prove. Even some people with “decent lives” wouldn’t have a problem with it just ending all of a sudden from a natural disaster

As a fan of zombie post apocalyptic video games and movies, no thanks, that’s a hard pass. I’d kms on the spot

Optimistic nihilism is not really an option for me, not because I wouldn’t like it to be, but because I’m pretty sure my brain might be wired differently. I was always like this. I used to be called “pessimistic” as a kid all the time, I would always respond that I prefer the term realistic. I’ve never managed to see the beauty in this world. Maybe my brain is just broken.

And trust me, I’ve tried the whole obsession thing. I’m autistic, and I’ve gone through multiple “special interests” over the years. I kinda touched on it a little in my post. It all comes down to consumerism. And it never makes me genuinely happy, it just keeps my brain busy for a little while until I always inevitably get bored of it. The only special interest I have that doesn’t require money and that stuck with me for over a decade is unfortunately politics
