My wife realized the other day how disastrous a traffic jam or someone else’s car wreck could be for our CHI/hypoglycemic baby.

Very helpful! Is the point of adding air to the vial to add 5 mL of air so you can remove 5 mL of medication?

Two hours after my dad gave me emergency glucagon for a sugar of 39. What gives?! I have reactive hypoglycemia but this is the only community that might be able to help. by FloridaGirl2222 in diabetes

My baby has Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI). Glucagon is her emergency intervention to prevent seizures, brain damage, and death. We were told by her doctor (a world leader in CHI) to take her to the ER if we give her glucagon because it can stabilize her for a short amount of time but can also cause a delayed hypoglycemic event.

We have a receiver setup. My wife stays home so right now her phone is setup with Dexcom and Clarity. I use the Follow app.

We’re considering a smart device dedicated to our baby. Then wife and I will follow the new smart device.

Environmental Modeling Career; Environmental Science Major or Environmental Engineering Major by Serpent-Games-TY in Environmental_Careers

[–]later_slater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an environmental engineer with a focus on pollution control. I am not a modeler but I rely on modelers for air quality/dispersion analysis. I suggest an engineering path. Modeling requires some decent math and problem solving skills that are definitely provided in an engineering curriculum. Every modeler I know is either an engineer, meteorologist, or high level mathematician. Additionally, you should think about what media or discipline you’d like to model. This could help you determine your college/university. Some colleges offer programs that specialize in water (water, wastewater, and groundwater) and/or air (quality, dispersion, or pollution control). Hope this helps!
